why does the dragon drink taste so weird? (self.starbucksbaristas)

One of my coworkers just pointed out that it tastes like children's cough medicine and like, holy shit it does? I remember it tasting better when i worked at Starbucks 2 years ago. Is my memory just wrong?

Its probably cuz of the fact that our shakers are used for the new refresher as well that recently just came out...the pineapple passion fruit refresher. Its so bitter and gross and strong, i hate it lol so ur maybe tasting that because even tho we rinse our shakers after each use right away, that drink is still so strong and potent

No matter how much I wash the pitchers they smell like pineapple coming out of the sanitizer now. Even if the pitcher wasn’t used for pineapple that day

Lol it hasnt gotten that bad at our store yet but i totally believe it because that shit smells so strong. Some of the baristas i work with...of theyre on bar and they make a drink in a shaker on cold bar, the shaker will be sitting on the counter for a few minutes but u can see why this would be bad especially if ur making a pineapple refresher in there. I rinse my shakers immediately especially when doing the pineapple refresher in any of the variations because the smell is so strong that i do not want the smell to overtake the shaker but sometimes it still does 😐

i used to get it a lot and then i recently tried it and i had the same feeling like it just did not hit lol maybe it’s just one of those foods/drinks u get into a phase with and then once u fall out it just isn’t the same

That's what I like about it. It's like a bubble gum flavored medicine. I've always enjoyed the taste of medicines.
