Baristas, what is honestly one of your worst customer experience stories?(self.starbucksbaristas)

I think one of my worst customer experiences was when the Cloud Machiattos were launched (I actually started the first day of that launch too), and because of the cloud foams we would obviously use nitro lids, and people would ask for straws all the time for them, which is no big deal at all. But, one time this younger girl came in with her Mom and Grandma, and she ordered one for herself and her family ordered their own drinks, but when we went to hand it off, the Mom and Grandma made a huge deal about not handing off a straw with the drink automatically. When we went to hand the straw off we tried to explain that because of the foam, the drink should be drank without the straw to enjoy the foam and espresso, but the grandma just went off and started yelling about the straw and how her Granddaughter NEEDED the straw (which she chimed in saying how she didn't even want the straw), and the Grandma kept on yelling about it as she was walking away and leaving the store. I just honestly couldn't believe someone got worked up so badly over a straw in a drink that wasn't even for her or wanted.
Another time had to have been where I was on lunch, and someone had bought a soda from our drink machine (we're inside a licensed store) and the woman came back to say that the soda was flat and wanted a refund, which my coworker promptly provided without hesitation, and the woman took the money, didn't say anything then proceeded to drop the whole soda cup on the floor and just walked away. I swear customers are just a whole different breed sometimes.

An older man exposed himself to a young boy in our bathroom after locking the boy in there with him. This is obviously horrible enough, but the family blamed us and screamed at us so bad until my coworker cried

It was right when I first started (literally my second day) and bathrooms were still closed due to covid and what not. I remember my SM was walking me through. cafe sweep and this dude came in with no mask. That store had a hallway that the bathrooms were in, and we used a few cases of bottled water stacked on top of each other to block said hallway. After we told him that a) bathrooms are closed and b) he’s required to wear a mask he got incredibly violent. Threw the water bottle cases, knocked shit off shelves, went on this long rant about how covid isn’t real, blah blah. A security guard had just walked in (not for him, but just to get a coffee. he came in every day!) when he lunged at my SM and thankfully the security guard stopped the wacko from hurting my SM. not sure what happened with him but we never saw him again, so

well on my first day of training, a fellow partner passed out and had a seizure. on my third day of training, a customer pulled a butcher knife on another customer over a box charger. the worst one i had, these girls (who were banned from our district and still are) came through the drive thru and ordered THE MOST complicated drinks ever. so complicated that i read the order aloud to them twice just to be sure everything was correct. they demanded that the drinks were remakes, as we “can never do their drinks right.” when asked if they have called and who they had talked to, they said the name of the SM from three years prior. they sat at my window for an entire hour, cussing me out and verbally attacking me. at the time, the SSV was away on his lunch. they made me call my SSV AND my SM, who was literally home sleeping. they tried to grab my phone through the window. anyway i cried in the back. but most recently, we had a guy go into the bathroom at 5:30 in the morning. around 6:30 we asked to see if he was okay. he refused to leave so we threatened to call the cops. still would not come out. so eventually we called the cops, and went to the bathroom door to told him we had done so. he stormed out of the bathroom without a shirt and was screaming at my SSV. so then i called the cops for a second time. when a regular customer confronted him, he chased him out to his car. anyway we locked the door as soon as he left, but he kept trying to open it and walked outside the store for 15 mins. anyway the cops never showed

I work at a Tarbucks location, and we didn't see what had happened, we just saw the aftermath because the kids were brought over to the Starbucks to wait, but one time a woman had a seizure in the produce section at Target. One of the TL brought the kids over, and they requisitioned some treats for them and we got some waters for them while the ambulance was helping the woman. I ended up clocking out shortly thereafter because it was the end of my shift.
The next day I go in, and I ask my coworkers what had happened, and they said one of the workers that had worked in produce had overheard what had happened: the mother was a really bad binge drinker, and she drank enough where when she would finally stop after a certain amount of time, her body would have such bad alcohol withdrawals that she would get seizures. The police had come after I left, as well as the grandparents of the kids, and the police had asked the kids if this was something that had happened before, and they said it had happened quite a few times before. They were able to stabilize the woman thankfully, but she was refusing to go to the hospital to get fully checked out. I think she eventually went after some persuasion from her parents, but damn do I feel bad for her kids, and I hope she was able to get the help that she needs.

Someone took someone else drinks they had the name for the order and the drinks AND the phone it was ordered from or at least the app and showed the order. We handed it off 10 mins later someone was looking for the same name (this was before dmp) we were 15-20 mins behind (it was peak and almost everyone was new) so I said about 20mins after the order time and if it wasn’t out by then I would make sure she got them. (I made sure it was the right store) 20 mins later she told me the order and the name again and I realized it was the same drinks and name for the order. So I let her know that someone had taken their drinks, I said that someone had given the same name and order and I asked if someone else had taken it for them the daughter went back in to check with her mother. The mother got out of the car and was actually screaming at me she blamed me for the order getting stolen, she said that I made her daughter wait for over an hour and her (the mother) wait in the car as well. Honestly a lot of the stuff she was saying I started to block out because of how much she was screaming and I didn’t know how to react. I just let her know what happened and told her I was almost done making the drinks and just needed the size on the last one. She just repeats how I made her daughter wait for so long.

had two regulars come in today. both were dead set on having a bad time. not only did i help them, i also made their drinks. i personally got a stink eye and got chewed out for one group pouring pike on themselves(they took the lid off and started pouring in2 a spare cup) and for another group ordering the wrong size drink.

2 years ago around the beginning of the pandemic when we opened up after being closed for a month, some guy came in with his young daughter. She looked to be about 7 to 9 years old. My shift supervisor at the time asked the guy if he had a mask and the guy said yeah it's in his pocket and he was trying to pull the mask out of his pocket as he kept walking into the store and my shift supervisor had asked him very kindly if he may please put the mask on before he continues coming in further. That's because this was literally a month or two after we had opened back up. So the guy gets super aggressive after that and he gets literally up in my shift supervisor's face without a mask on and starts screaming at him and threatening him with harm and cursing. All in front of his daughter. Then another shift supervisor and employee came out from the back and that other shift supervisor called the cops and as we were waiting for them, my other coworker told the guy to leave and open the door and held it open to make sure that he leaves and as the guy walked past her, he called her a bitch and a social justice warrior. Then he got in his truck with his daughter and i went outside to see if I can easily get the license plate info and another customer had ran out there with me but we were trying to look at the license plate kind of from a distance and the customer told me what she tried to make out from the license plate. And then before he pulled away with his daughter, he rolled down the passenger side window because that was the side of the truck that was facing us and he literally screamed through her ears out the window that he was going to come back with a gun so we had to lock the doors and the cops came pretty quickly. I was extremely traumatized and shaking and barely could breathe and we still stayed open

A customer called me a bitch for writing HIS name on HIS CUP. He told me I was a smart ass and called me a bitch multiple times , yelling the whole time.
I wish I could elaborate more, but that was literally it.
He still comes and orders with the same name.... I just...i don't understand.

Got a used mask thrown at me and another time had this big guy who said he was a cop, pacing around the store calling me a fucking bitch from all corners.
