Oh listen, my guy. I LOVED this job. Don’t get me wrong. I spent 2 years of my life with the siren. I quit 2 months ago and it was very bittersweet. My coworkers were some of the best people I have ever met in my life. Customers absolutely suck. And yes, the pay should be better. BUT if you find the right store with the right vibe for you, it will be one of the best jobs you will have had. I miss it a lot. I loved the fast paced environment. And after the moments of terrible customer interactions had passed, I loved laughing about them with my coworkers. I know it’s not universal because I will say that some stores’ vibes SUCK (I picked up a couple shifts at other stores and we had borrowed partners occasionally and the vibes were not it all the time). But if you find a store that is a fit for you, the job is honestly amazing. Shit customers aside. And this sub is filled with people who will support you on your journey and honestly they’re all amazing and I love these people. I miss the siren a lot of the time. But my lifestyle doesn’t have space for her right now. I’m a parent and don’t really need the extra income now with my full time “grown up” job especially when it’s less than what I pay for gas to get there.

I will complain every day about TikTok drinks. But the friendships I got from this job and the work environment at my store were some of my favorite things. It really does depend on your store though. Some people in here have had terrible experiences with their SM or SSVs and that sucks. But not every store has that and not every barista has those experiences.

Don’t let us scare you. You’ll never know until you try it! It’s not for everyone. But most of us stick around because we do like it!
