Modifications on the sandwiches should not be allowed! /tall rant (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by purplejanuary14
Why do I have to pick out bacon or eggs or cheese(with the warmer tongs) out of an already pre made sandwich?!?!

Everything was already touching each other! There’s no point!!
pleutparty 19 points 1y ago
Or when people want them cut in half. I hate it. It's impossible to cut a sandwich without touching it. I feel like I'm just throwing a shredded mess in the bag.

If you cover/wrap the sandwich out of the oven with patchment and cut through the paper it will give you a surface you can touch and it makes the knife cut better
bestowcurse 3 points 1y ago
Cut while the sandwich is cold and in the bag. Helped me out a lot.

I’ve had a lot of people get sausages egg and cheddars without the egg or sausage. Just the English muffin and cheese

WHY not go to McDonalds 😭😭😭
purplejanuary14 [OP] 2 points 1y ago
😭 why wouldn’t they just get a grilled cheese
Chub-boat 13 points 1y ago
Y'all one time I made someone a double smoked bacon, no bread. It haunts me so I try not to think about it.
persona-2 3 points 1y ago
You don’t get the people who do the turkey bacon no bread? Something about low cal or no carbs or whatever. I just dump it from the parchment to an oatmeal bowl and give them a fork. If they want to go that for that go right on ahead.

some people can't have certain foods but can still eat things that have been in contact. allergies/intolerances are different in each case. and sometimes i want a bacon sandwich with gouda and i don't want that nasty "frittata" egg
purplejanuary14 [OP] 8 points 1y ago
Yeah but we don’t have a set up for that like McDonald’s. To me our food is more akin to microwaving like 7/11.

My store never has gloves and we’re not allowed to touch the food.
Helpful-Toe2174 3 points 1y ago
Sometimes if I don’t have gloves I use warming paper to hold the sandwich down and cut
AmphibianThen 8 points 1y ago
Some people don’t like certain ingredients, and it takes a very small amount of time to remove a piece of cheese that isn’t glued to the sandwich.
On top of that, if the customer is willing to pay a ridiculous price for the food, they should get what they want. Everyone who works for this company wants to complain they don’t make enough money but can’t be bothered to complete a beyond simple task smh.
KiwiBeginning4 6 points 1y ago
you clearly havent gotten orders of 5 turkey bacons with no cheese one after the other
MatchingColors 3 points 1y ago
Do you really believe *there’s no point*?
Ordinary-Theory-8289 3 points 1y ago
Right? I think the point is they wanted sausage and cheddar without egg
overturned23 2 points 1y ago
or when they want to combine 2 sandwiches. i’m not putting your double smoked bacon on the ciabatta of a bacon gouda.
celloqueer 2 points 1y ago
Had a regular at my last store that ordered 2 bacon Gouda no bacon no bun nearly every day in the early afternoon.
Responsible_Snow7109 2 points 1y ago
Omg i get that happening every day. The other day it was a bacon gouda without the egg and cheese and ive also had one for a sausage egg n cheddar without the egg or cheese
GreedyKiwi33 1 points 1y ago
i dont really agree but taking the cheese off of the turkey bacon 😀omg its like glue
mckanoot 1 points 1y ago
Prolly to eat less calories or just don't like the taste of it.

The point is allowing simple modifications means more money.
