the day before my birthday, i really wanted to have a good day at work but i was super tired and exhausted since i worked all day that week and did a few doubles for extra money. i get out on drive thru handout and the lady is waiting on one last item on the screen, i hand it to her and she doesn’t pull away even after i say to have a good day. i ask her what she is waiting on like 30 seconds later and she says a double smoked bacon that i don’t see on her order. i tell her i don’t see it on the order, and that i can get her one, and she speeds off and for some reason that made me feel really disrespected and i think she was muttering curse words at me under her breath as she left. but it was so rude and i was being so nice, and it ruined the day before my birthday for me :(

First of all, I want to say that you are doing your best and trying to do your job. I am the same way. Really sensitive and can’t handle confrontation and I’m so sorry to hear that a customer made you cry. But keep up the great work! Just know your shifts are always there for you. I cried twice during work.
I cried at work because of a rude customer. I hate DTO because I have somewhat bad hearing and I hate how I can’t hear the customers that well and ask them to repeat their drink or else they would get really mad. Especially with those who have strong accents which I feel really really nervous about since I don’t want to make anyone mad. Well, this one guy yelled at me at the speaker when I was DTO. He was yelling at me for making him repeat his order multiple times, not hearing him clearly, and said I shouldn’t be on the speaker. I told him I was sorry and told him his total and drove away the speaker to the window. I took off my headset and went to the back and just started bawling my eyes out until one of my shifts comforted me.
Yeahhh wasn’t a fun time for me. 😅
(Edit: I cried at work the second time because I was so overwhelmed on DTO and got flashbacks of that^ incident)

not because of a customer but the amount of times my floor has been utter shite because of staffing, i’ve screamed and/or cried in the back hallway thrice this week
