So i’m a green bean (a little over a month in) and i know my store has a group chat but i’m still not apart of it. At first someone said that it’s because i didn’t have an iphone but even after getting one no one has offered. I’m thinking it would be a good thing to have to like pick up shifts and stuff but still no one has offered like i said. i kinda feel left out. but would it be weird to nonchalantly ask to be apart of it?

Ask whoever trained you. They should be able to get you in the group chat.

my store specifically uses discord to organize chats. we use this platform since we have iphone and android users, we have chats for shift swappings and a general. best decision by far it makes it a lot of fun to talk to partners

Ask the manager they are usually in charge of that and they should be able to add you in without even having an iPhone

Managers are not supposed to be in a group chat. Ask a SSV (or barista doesn’t matter) to add you.

Well I meant a work groupchat that they created using starbucks communications and stuff not personal ones that partners create within themselves

That's weird. All the stores I've been at have used an app called GroupMe so phone type did not matter.

i recently found out through my dm we are only supposed to communicate store related things through phone calls, so if they have a group chat that’s technically against company policy. if you’re feeling petty enough you could report to your dm but then the group chat would have to be deleted, if you don’t want to get anyone in trouble just politely ask one of the ppl in the chat if they can add you

Likewise, I’m too shy to ask anyways plus I don’t know if it’s something really necessary to be a part of or not?
