What are you doing on here, op?? You a nark? Be gay, so crimes. Wtf
smoolbeean [OP]42 points1y ago
lmao wtf am i a nark?? no. personally i see no problem cause you get three drinks per shift and whose to say im not just drinking oatmilk. if it can be rung up. i dont think it would be against policy.
board-certified78 points1y ago
you get unlimited drinks per shift….

philosopher_cat_lady-59 points1y ago
You technically get one drink before your shift, one after, and one on any break.
szhou00939 points1y ago
Nah it's unlimited.
charlenebean7 points1y ago
I heard that once but it’s actually 30 mins before your shift, unlimited during, and 30 mins after your shift. Then you just use your discount
That_Tuba_Who-17 points1y ago
1 before, 1 after, 1 food item (excluding a few) and unlimited drinks during is what I remember from ~2 years ago
LatterRooster22 points1y ago
I worked there 2018-2021 and I got as many drinks as I could consume.
StillEmotional6 points1y ago
whoever is in charge in your store is lying to you dudette/dude/person of reddit.
acnh1222103 points1y ago
Is it against policy? Maybe. But do we do it at my store? Yeah. We do it as a venti cold milk no ice.
croissantboyy3 points1y ago
technically 2 grandes equals one oat milk exactly bc oat milk is 32 oz. since a venti is only 26 oz there's a lot of milk unaccounted for.
cherryfeverdream86 points1y ago
maybe a lil against policy but i tell my partners if i don’t see it not my problem
darkwolf5238 points1y ago
True
Wonderful_Nightmare1 points1y ago
This
Ven7Niner-13 points1y ago
This is why Howard had to come back, you know.
StormTheParade65 points1y ago
Why mark out two grandes when you can mark out 1 trenta
smoolbeean [OP]40 points1y ago
cause you cant order trenta milk
StormTheParade42 points1y ago
Oh really?? Since when?
I had a coworker who used to take a trenta milk home with him like once a week, now I'm thinking he may have been marking out a venti and taking a Trenta lmfaoo
monzoink41 points1y ago
Uh oh someone call the police he took 4 more ounces of milk than he was supposed to, that’s like a war crime level
StormTheParade17 points1y ago
We all took shit we "weren't supposed to" - I would take home the leftover black tea at night to make sweet tea at home.
My point is that I've spent the last 4 years thinking you could order a trenta milk and it turns out you can't lmao
7beforeminutes54 points1y ago
4 ounces even. 26 ounces in a venti cold. 30 in a trenta. And we give up to 4 ounces for free. So really he’s just taking his free portion lol
Binx_da_gay_cat10 points1y ago
Me thinks our ssv does the same lol.
But I don't know how she might finangle the system either.
sad-beanss2 points1y ago
I do venti cold oat milk and ‘add dairy’ x2 to account for inventory :-)
vegan-trash55 points1y ago
Ask your manager. I asked mine and she said yes
SelectAioli46 points1y ago
alternatively dont ask your manager so they don’t have to tell you no
mxs423550 points1y ago
My old manager legit would get a venti chai with no water and a gazillion pumps and take home a carton of chai concentrate 🤷♀️🤷♀️
dirtychai021831 points1y ago
no i do it all the time lol
jazzysoranio29 points1y ago
Bad barista! Naughty! Do not break rules! I would NEVER do that! (does it 😈) Lol We throw away so much stuff all the time I don’t feel bad about taking something home that I can literally actually mark out and account for.
I just wouldn’t do that if we’re low on whatever it is.
ObjectElegant777028 points1y ago
If we can ring it out for a customer we can ring it out for ourselves, at least that’s how I see it
fuwaldah8 points1y ago
Yes.
Additional_Shoe7 points1y ago
For some reason when my eyes read “box” my brain went to like an actual case of oat milk and I was like what kind of question is that
Perfect-Leadership587 points1y ago
i do this all the time 🫣🫣
lividphantom7 points1y ago
I used to mark out two ventis and a tall, all no ice, and my SM allowed me to bring home two oatmilk boxes, but I did it once a week. 64 oz(2 boxes) = 26+26+12
dazedandconfusedhere6 points1y ago
Yes because you can only have one drink marked out at a time per policy. The safest option if you’re worried about breaking policy would be to just take a venti cup of it home, or even a trenta pink drink no strawberry base no inclusions no ice sub oat milk
megs12885 points1y ago
Ask for forgiveness not permission
alphabet_order_bot3 points1y ago
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 906,081,295 comments, and only 179,758 of them were in alphabetical order.
thebestdaysofmyflerm5 points1y ago
If you want to be a hundred percent in line with the rules, you can only take one drink home. I get a venti oat milk and just pour it in a container when I get home.
Oatly barista is fucking bomb, if they change the policy to disallow this I’ll probably quit lol. So keep it on the DL!
Ok_Beautiful_40562 points1y ago
Target sells the cartons of Oatly Barista edition or at least the target near me does
stillwantthewhip5 points1y ago
I don’t allow my partners to take the actual cartons home, but by all means take cups of it home.
graylikesoap5 points1y ago
personally my shifts have no problem with it since you could sell two grande cups of oat milk no ice to someone then you can have it for yourself
fookyall3 points1y ago
I once used my mark out to get a tall heavy cream no ice so I could use it to make Alfredo sauce 😅 idk about taking a whole carton like that though. Maybe get like a venti or something no ice 🤷🏼♀️
Ok_Beautiful_40562 points1y ago
Genius. Absolutely genius.
RubySapphireSage3 points1y ago
Many of my partners do this
yyz_barista3 points1y ago
Probably against policy, but a blind eye can be turned, depending on your store management.
Necessary_Low9393 points1y ago
I don’t see why not! 😃
SatanicPisces2 points1y ago
kroger sells our oat milk
Aurora_Boreallis2 points1y ago
Sometimes I mark out heavy cream and make butter at home
tinydesthique2 points1y ago
SHHHHHHHHH DONT TELL NOBODY
grapefruitconspiracy1 points1y ago
no dude just take it lol
Wonderful_Nightmare1 points1y ago
Nope. Fuck it Haha
Tealover991 points1y ago
I would mark strawberry refresher base this way and add strawberry vodka in it and enjoy the pool with thos drink. Before they changed it.
kaefeen1 points1y ago
I would just put it in a trenta cup bc I’m not brave enough
Nraveles111 points1y ago
I don’t think anyone cares enough lol. If we don’t see it it isn’t our problem
fuknhot1 points1y ago
Is this bc the oat milk change?
rlogranite1 points1y ago
If your manager doesn't have a problem with it then do it.
AuntieRia11281 points1y ago
2.5 year partner here and what I was told- We get unlimited drinks during our shifts, and a drink half an hour before and half an hour after… we also get 7 food items per week, these can be marked out all at once or 1 or a few each day each day, as long as they are marked out during an actually work shift (or half an hour before or half an hour after) and after 7 we will get charged in our paycheck.
LitbykristenPhoto1 points1y ago
I worked in a Seattle Starbucks, and Im always so jelly of the partners who are allowed to get more than 1 free drink per shift. Its up to the mgr, and some just give ALOT less than the majority of the stores.

Helyra1 points1y ago
You'd have to ask your manager because my Manger allows it when we have enough.
boxinghamster161 points1y ago
Just so you know, you don't have to ring it in no ice. You aren't supposed to put ice in milk 🤢🤮

katieisheckacool1 points1y ago
Mark out a trenta cup full, it’s 32 oz same as the box
Chr0nicMasturbat0r0 points1y ago
Trenta is 30 bruh
katieisheckacool0 points1y ago
Close enough

Noobplzforgive1 points1y ago
I have done it before but the managers in this sub said it's technically stealing.
Accurate-Bumblebee140 points1y ago
8 grandes = 1 gallon
mo_4_president0 points1y ago
Lol I take home huge cups of 20+ pumps of chai, no milk, no water, weekly.
paintthatface0 points1y ago
Do a venti cold milk, oat milk, add dairy charge ask me “Trenta cup” i used to do it for egg nog hehe
philosopher_cat_lady0 points1y ago
No
emtionallyconfused140 points1y ago
I recently quit so I can admit this now I think , but y are you trying to mark that out ? Just take a box of oatmilk home - most ppl at my store did this once a week. This company makes more money in a year then any other fast food chain in the world. You taking an oatmilk won’t hurt their bottom line.
smoolbeean [OP]3 points1y ago
facts. but i also try to keep track of marking things out because my store just fired somebody for not marking out drinks and letting her fiance get a free drink everyday
emtionallyconfused141 points1y ago
That’s a good point I didn’t start not marking out things until I was closer to quitting cuz I no longer cared at that point My last 2 weeks I took about 6 boxes of mango dragon fruit home 😅

patchoulimars0 points1y ago
I mark out matcha powder and take it home with me. I just do a matcha latte, no milk, extra scoops of matcha. Sooo i don’t think this is bad. Same energy.
100MrTiconderoga001-4 points1y ago
Do whatever u want, the sbux policy is stupid!
Brief_Coat6526-1 points1y ago
Customers does bulls shit everybody losses it but when a baristas does it it’s ok.
[deleted]-27 points1y ago

notyourmarysue45 points1y ago
16+16 is literally 32
[deleted]1 points1y ago

darkwolf5231 points1y ago
That’s some interesting math you got there
Jtimby1-23 points1y ago
I’m not a strict shift at all, but I’d be upset if a barista did this. Just put it in venti cups and put it into a container or mason jar at home. I do this with sweet cream
Alicekitty1350 points1y ago
why would you be upset? because they aren't wasting plastic?
jamieisntgay9 points1y ago
Literally why does it matter if its put in venti cups or the carton, it's the same amount of product. (in fact, if we're counting ALL product, it's less waste to just take the carton instead of also taking 2 cups and lids lol)
