What shoes are your favorite for work? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by handyfruitcake
New barista here. What are your favorite shoes that meet the dress code? I’m having a hard time figuring out which shoes will be the right material while also being comfortable and supportive. I’m more concerned about the support than the looks. Thanks in advance!

Ugly as all, but work Skechers are comfortable.

walmart nonslips, sketchers, and docs are always good. ask your manager if nonslip crocs are allowed cus there’s some debate!! also, i don’t recommend vans or anything without arch support :)

Crocs makes non slips for restaurant workers! They don't have the holes so they are dress code approved

Any leather boots from a decent brand, I've found good comfort from Kodiak boots, even now that I'm 7 months pregnant, they are a little more affordable than top brands and always have extra 15%or 25% off coupons if you Google for promo codes!

These are my current favorite, good ankle support, love the look, not too heavy, lots of room for working feet (size up a half size). Only issue is because they aren't the slightly more expensive fully weather proof version, and because of the toe threading detail, they arent 100% waterproof, just resistant. I've felt a bit of coffee seep in after a direct drop. But I haven't had soaked feet yet, even in Seattle rain, and the comfort is worth it. Much better than my athletic shoe attempts at all day heavy duty foot protection.

I have docs! I wear burgundy ones that I bought as work boots for my old job but I wear black ones when I know we have management coming lol. Breaking them in SUCKS but once they’re broken in they’re my favourite for everyday wear and at work:-)

I wear Skechers but even they’re not good enough for 8 hour shifts. I’m looking into Dansko shoes that nurses wear.

I actually used to work in healthcare and loved the nikes the nurses recommended, but unfortunately they aren’t the right material for Starbucks. Maybe the clogs are the way to go!!! I’ll trust a nurse about comfortable shoes any day
