I go “thanks so much for choosing Starbucks, how are we today?” And my coworkers have even said that me doing that makes it seem like the customers give me a much more positive response than if they said “thanks for choosing Starbucks how are you today?” And the person just ignores them and start ordering

I always liked asking people how their morning was, (definitely gave me extra time if I was at the ovens) until my SM put up a sign saying it was bad for drive times and “unnecessary” …

“Hi welcome to Starbucks ALL HAIL THE SIREN. What can I get for you?”
“Good morning/afternoon, welcome to Starbucks! Can I get a WHOOP WHOOP?” (Most of the time customers actually whoop whoop)
“Hi there! You’re at Starbucks, just in case you were wondering! What can I get for you?”
“Good morning/afternoon! Would you like to hear a joke today? (If yes) Knock knock! (Who there) STAR…. (Star who) STARBUCKS what can I get for ya?”
“STARBUCKS you’re at it what can I get for you”
I get bored in DTO so I try to make it fun lol so far haven’t gotten in trouble with any of these

ooh I love to have fun on drive through! a lot of the times I'll say something like "hi welcome to Starbucks, my name is Dwayne the rock Johnson, how can I help you today?" and see how many people actually notice. sometimes I'll speak in overly formal antiquated language like "greetings and good morrow, my liege. welcome to our humble establishment. how may I serve you today?"

I've been a partner for over 3 years now and I'm ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY SICK of this place. When I'm in drive thru I just get to the point lol. I'd love to say "What the hell do you want? Chop chop." Sometimes, when I'm really hating my life I just hear the beep and wait for THEM to greet ME!
