Do your stores have major problems with your bathrooms? I'm talking, homeless people locking themselves in and refusing to leave, people defecating on the floor, smearing feces on the walls, pee everywhere all the time!!! I have to mop the bathrooms multiple times a day because there are always puddles of pee 😭
At my old store we had all these problems as well as issues with drug use in the bathrooms to the point where one of the baristas got poked by a needle when changing a garbage.
Our bathrooms also always smell awful, no matter what time of day... Maybe our customers need to eat more fiber?
I'm in Toronto, and not even a super sketchy part of Toronto either.

We get drug use, lots of people bathing and misusing the bathroom. Thank God I haven’t dealt with poop smeared on the walls though. Ours also smells pretty bad. A mixture of burnt aluminum foil and poop. I think there’s something wrong with the ventilation.
Oooh smart. One of my stores decided to only give codes to the partners. It does suck that we have to open the bathroom for every person, but it did bring down the incident reports, and messes like that, a lot

(TW) we have a bad homeless/drug problem too.. not so much pee/feces but more blood and needles 😻😻 it’s hard cus our bathrooms don’t have the number pad locks just regular ones unfortunately. i remember one time i went to the restroom just to use it and i found someone’s discharge papers in the toilet lmfao. flushing them away does make you un-arrested for shoplifting babe 😭

Yes! Even with the “coded locks” we still have a problem. There was talks of making the restrooms customers only but they decided against it after all.

I wish we would get rid of our public bathrooms altogether! It's awful for the baristas that have to clean them!
Mea-fae_Owl738 points1y ago
It has become such a safety issue!

Agreed! I refuse to dispose of any drug paraphernalia and I won't touch the garbage if I suspect someone has been doing drugs in the bathroom. The shift can figure it out or call it into facilities, but I will not go near it! Same goes for feces that's anywhere other than the toilet.

I refer to the bathroom as The Cell. Idk what is going on in there but its worthy of a horror movie I'm sure.

Yes, I’ve had someone poop in the trash can!

We had to get the city to come out once and clean out our pipes because they were clogged with hair from people shaving in our sinks :/

I thought pee on the floor was considered a biohazard?
idk_why1000 [OP]3 points1y ago
I'm pretty sure it is, but what can we do! It's disgusting!
JEXTZZ4 points1y ago
well i think you’re supposed to call the facilities when it comes to stuff like that since it’s a violation of health or something like that.
idk_why1000 [OP]6 points1y ago
Ooo I see, that poor person would never leave our store.. they would have full time work just cleaning up pee all day long!

Yes, we have this problem. I’ve only worked at this location for 5ish months and I am transferring to a new one that won’t have issues with homelessness. It’s a safety issue. We have keypad locks on our bathrooms, but someone figured out the code last week and went in the bathroom and shit everywhere. I’m talking a literal biohazard. I told my manager about it and added “I will not be cleaning it either, that is a biohazard.”
