Blended drink??? Cream or coffee base???? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by geminibxtch666
Does anyone know what the standard is for blending drinks now that aren’t a Frappuccino or a blended strawberry lemonade? Do we use coffee/cream base or just str8 up blend it with ice??? Me & my coworkers were just talking about it and none of us knew😭😭

Make the drink as you normally would, dump it in the pitcher, and blend. You don’t add base unless requested - that would change the sugar and calorie counts in ways people might not be okay with.

This is what I was thinking too! Thank you I appreciate it!

I've just been blending them with ice and hoping for the best

This is the standard. No base. The refreshers don’t need them anyway, they blend nicely but ice coffee, teas, and ice lattes suck without them.

Literally😭

No base. If they are asking for a drink blended, they are asking for a normal recipe blended. If they have any objection to the consistency, they may not realize that it is a frapp they want. Just help them figure it out.

If it helps when I have to blend stuff like lattes and iced coffees I use less ice than I normally would it makes it a lot easier to pour and it doesn’t turn into one big clump

Base only goes in frapps and the strawberry lemonade not in drinks that get the blended modification.

No base for blended or double blended drinks. If they request any base you charge it as either a coffee frap for lattes, you build it with the ingredients that come in a latte, shots, syrup,, etc... and remove frap roast. There's no way to do this for iced coffees or cold brews. If they request base in a blended refresher it's a syrup creme frap w/o milk sub whatever refresher base they want, add water or lemonade and the fruit pieces, no whip.

The only time I have a real issue with blending drinks that shouldn’t be blended is when it’s an iced Americano

I build it like normal then toss it in there and blend on 1.

Not one single time has the customer been satisfied with the result. The kinda-warm espresso just froths the whole thing and you end up with a trenta size cup of just foam. One time a customer asked me to remake it exactly 6 times and wouldn’t tell me how she wanted it - just “the normal way” - I just walked out back and let someone else make it. I don’t know how to remedy the blended iced Americano.

YES every time someone orders a drink blended they always ask for it to be remade. I started telling customers that it just taste like ice with watered down flavor.

If it’s like a blended espresso drink I add a pump or two of coffee base, but for the blended lemonade and pink drink stuff I definitely add the crème base as it helps it not separate so quickly

blended strawberry lemonade comes w creme base, it’s on the recipe card.
i add creme base when a kid orders orders a random refresher blended bc they always expect a smoothie but if it’s an adult ordering it i do not add base edit: punctuation.

I use cream base for anything that doesn’t have coffee, not sure if this is correct though 💀

my sm and shifts always say to blend it with cream base
Fluffy_Sea6789 6 points 1y ago
I don’t recommend doing that especially if someone is ordering a drink that doesn’t come with sugar. My friend has diabetes and if she unknowingly had more sugar than she was supposed to it can mess her up
