got a write up for calling off too much (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by saikaiuri
apparently calling off twice a month is poor attendance, and everytime i’ve called off it was because i needed to. but my manager believes unless someones dying calling off is the worst you could ever do.

'I will not sign this write up because I do not agree an issue exists.'

Signing a write up is just acknowledging the conversation was had. It makes no impact. It goes in your file anyway.

I guarantee not just rolling over has an impact.

Call the pcc and see if corporate really considers this a write up offense. Twice in one month doesn’t sound excessive nor poor attendance, but if it’s twice every month it sounds like an availability issue (which shouldn’t be a write up but a conversation). On any write up you get there should be a section for your comments/statement and that’s where you can state that you don’t agree with the write up and won’t be signing. You can refuse to sign a write up.
