lemonade shortage ?? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Kindly-Trust7211
is anyone else also out of lemonade?? we aren’t getting it in the order too and my manager said there was a shortage?

Unfortunately. We were also told it's a national shortage and my boss isn't sure when it's going to be available again. Customers of course think "national shortage" means we're hiding it in the back just to spite them.

The amount of adult tantrums I’ve had to deal with for not having the mango dragon fruit lemonade is… disappointing 😀

They get so feral about the mango dragon fruit lmao. We were out of the lemonade and the pieces at the same time and I swear some of them were about to start throwing hands over this damn drink.

Us too it was definitely top 5 worst shifts 😍
peternal_pansel 2 points 1y ago
I would personally hide lemonade in the back out of spite but it seems the boys at the lemonade stand are doing it for me this time.

My favorite is when people assume you or your manager are doing the order wrong. Like ma’am I can assure you if you go to the next nearest Starbucks they will also be out
Specialist_Nebula750 8 points 1y ago
Same. I swear some customers lose their mind when we have to tell them we can make it with water instead of lemonade

We haven’t had the concentrate in forever. But we still get the gallon pre made stuff pretty consistently. (Or we’re over ordering and hoarding it 👀)

Getting shorted lemonade and vanilla syrup for about a month now. Also shorted pineapple base the last 2 weeks.
kels0kickflip 2 points 1y ago
Everywhere is out. People don’t know our refreshers aren’t automatically made with lemonade and I’ve made a lot of people mad about it.
itsdrewms 2 points 1y ago
We were out of lemonade for a bit over a week but fortunately got some in a delivery last closing shift
Parrothead91 2 points 1y ago
It would make sense. I work in a grocery store (x-bux employee) and we can’t get the lemon juice bottles for love or money.
ThistlePatches 1 points 1y ago
I don't know the last time we got shipped lemonade. we've been substituting for at least a month
Luxia_Knight 1 points 1y ago
Yeah we just go buy it at the store
Lost_Amoebaa 1 points 1y ago
Us too
Jasreha 1 points 1y ago
Yup. Northwest Indiana, been out for 3 days now. We just got ONE box in our order.
oftbkk 1 points 1y ago

trentablondelatte 1 points 1y ago

My store was out for 2 weeks recently but just started getting a few in each order, but not nearly enough as it only lasts about 2 days or so 🙃

I mean, I don’t really know what’s in the white mocha but I sure know a recipe for lemonade. It doesn’t seem like the kind of thing that would be hard to supply.
celloqueer 7 points 1y ago
The only sub Starbies will let us buy from a supermarket and use is simply lemonade and some managers aren’t willing to use that much of the store funds for that because simply lemonade is really expensive compared to Starbies suppliers when they’re actually shipping it to us.

I mean, I get it 😂 I’m not complaining. I just think it’s hilarious that there are sweeping shortages of something that any child could make.
Nearby-Philosophy-25 3 points 1y ago
Okay, yes, lemonade is really simple, but this isn’t a local business or a lemonade stand. Things work differently when you work for a licensed or corporate location where consistency is key. The materials used to make drinks are specific and usually not interchangeable, unless it’s literally 2% milk or whipping cream.
Accomplished-Bad3856 0 points 1y ago
I absolutely understand that, I’m not suggesting that the cafes should just make their own lemonade with lemons from the store, but I assure you it is quite funny. If you consider for a moment the process necessary to produce 2% milk is much more complex and nuanced than making lemonade. I cannot make 2% milk, I can, in fact, make lemonade.

I'm assuming it has more to do with a difficulty in sourcing ingredients than it is people just deciding they have better things to do than make the lemonade. I get what you're saying but painting these shortages out to be like they're due more to worker incompetence rather than us just being in really difficult times right now is extremely uncharitable at best, yknow?
Accomplished-Bad3856 1 points 1y ago
I don’t know where you got “worker incompetence” from anything I’ve said.

There is a lemonade shortage is objectively funny to me. I’m sorry I can’t think of anything that is easier to produce than lemonade.

I guess this begs the question, did corporate run out of lemons, water or sugar? If you don’t think that’s funny, I can’t help you understand any better.

The only thing I can think of with a less rigorous recipe is ice.

Edit: I can’t even make ice without employing technology that I don’t completely understand. Lemonade still wins.
