Was it down entirely? Or is it specifically the chip that doesn’t scan - the card reader at my store has that happening too often and it’s so annoying. Work around for that is to put the card in twice, then when it’s denied twice it’ll let you swipe the card strip. It won’t let me swipe the card the first time either, I have to go through the denied chip twice. Smh.
