Tea refills (self.starbucksbaristas)

so this person comes in every now and then and asks for a hot chocolate and then once she finishes it, she asks for a tea and says it counts as a tea refill, it makes me annoyed so i don’t argue. are they correct?

Yes! As long as they are still in the lobby and have ordered something before hand they qualify for the refill policy. The drink doesn’t have to be the same as the original. Meaning I could order and caramel frap and get an iced coffee/hot coffee/iced tea/hot tea refill if I wanted. If they leave and come back for a refill it’s a no, they must be sitting in the store/lobby. If you go on partner hub and search refill policy there is a page on it !

The customer is correct and you are incorrect. You can get a refill of any qualifying "refill" drink **no matter what your original order was**.

Right here: https://customerservice.starbucks.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6778

I think this policy actually does more to encourage the "third place" more than anything else.

We had a regular, who was a whiny person, but anyway everyday: grande caramel machiatto around 10am then they’d sit for hours and order a decaf pour over as their refill during afternoon peak without fail every day and come ask if it’s ready 7 times… long answer for yes.
