Can customers add to the cup fund? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I was playing around on the register and came across a button for the cup fund, and when you click it, you can enter an amount. So could a customer donate to the cup fund? Like say they wanted to tip but they were paying with card, I know it wouldn't be the same but it'd still get to the partners in some form...

Someone did at my store they were a customer but it showed up as cup fund as a second item unless there from cooperate or something cause I asked them where they worked at and they did they don’t work at Starbucks
