Uber drivers (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Baby_Rocket_Ship
Has anyone else had a serious issue with Uber drivers? I actually had one call corporate on me before.
True story: this woman was angry that I was ringing out customers and bagging the order at the same time
She was yelling, coming behind the counter trying to do it herself, and upsetting the customer at the register to where she was tearing up.
I handed her the bag but she didn’t like the way it was done and it was this whole shabang. Now I avoid even having an issue by just constantly reassuring the driver it’s fine and that I got it under control, I still get snapped at by Uber drivers but it’s out of my control. Does anyone else have grumpy drivers that take out their work day on you?

yesss some of the uber drivers at my store are so entitled- sir, not only are you not a paying customer, you don't get to magically skip the line. everyone gets their shit in the order it comes out lol

She literally demanded corporate number and disrupted our store and we had to face heat for that. Good thing tho she hasn’t returned lol. And people fail to understand that other people place orders and think the world revolves around them. We are only human.

yes!! i’m hard of hearing and this uber lady got pissy with me when i asked her to repeat the name of the order she was picking up. she would raise her eyebrows and make faces at me, but wouldn’t Raise Her Voice so i could hear her. most people just shove their phone in our faces, i would’ve preferred that!! we usually have ~3 delivery orders at a time and very little time to stop and pack them, so we usually just pack the orders when the driver gets there. it happened about 4 times with the same woman and eventually i just stopped trying and asked another partner to deal with her.. i understand it’s hot outside, but damn lady!! plus we were very obviously busy.

on the flip side, there’s one gentleman who we LOVE. he’s so kind, he knows us by name, and he always takes the time to converse with us when he picks up orders. truly a wonderful man and i hope he’s met with the same kindness he puts into the world :)

I also have certain people I have to have my peers interact with or it will be a sh*t show

Oh gosh that sounds like a nightmare. We either get several small orders or 1-2 16-29 drink deliveries. It gets really busy at times cause we are off a highway, it’s almost impossible to bend time and will, I wish people knew that lol

There are some Uber drivers that come through the drive thru and simply refuse to get out of their car and it pisses me off
Baby_Rocket_Ship [OP] 2 points 1y ago
That’s a whole new level of Oh Hell No Not Today! Cause oh no. We luckily don’t have a drive thru, so we don’t have to deal with that, gosh I feel for you guys

The following lines usually shut them up, speak in a hostile manner if they’re hostile to you —that’s the only way to get their attention honestly. :

“You have to wait.”

“I have to hand you the order. You don’t pack it yourself. You can cancel if you want.”

“Well according to the app, you are early so stop rushing.”

I was taught that the uber driver must show you the app as proof they’re the driver. I asked this one uber driver to show me his app, and he got LIVID and was like “Why should I show you my phone?! That is my personal information!! I call uber and they said I don’t have to show you my phone!!” The thing was, he made himself seem very sketchy that I didn’t want to give him the order cuz of his resistance. He then yelled at me “go look at the tablet and you’ll see my face!! want to know the order?!?! *reads it out*” He was so abusive, rude, and all over showing me the app. I don’t really care if we don’t technically have to see it, that’s what I was told and how I was taught and his behavior was ridiculous. I reported him very quickly.

Lolol damn that sounds rough. Luckily the uber eats people that come to pick up orders at my store are not that rude and aggressive. If its not ready when they come in for it, we tell them were finishing up the order or we will tell them we have to finish packing it up and theyre actually very patient to wait for it. Do u think the driver did that to u cuz maybe their afraid of getting a lower tip or no tip or something? Either way, no matter the reason, u dont treat somebody like that. I hate when other people try to tell someone what to do or how to do their jobs or to hurry up.

Exactly. I think it also depends on district and people’s personalities too, I wonder if it’s just literally my store LOL
Responsible_Snow7109 2 points 1y ago
Yea theres definitely a few factors that play a role in that. But nah i dont think its only ur store. Im sure theres a ton of stores that have to deal with rude ass uber eats drivers. They should just chill out n wait. It gets busy at places of business. Like they should know that
