Save em a month, updates are coming to dress code In august
hotcheetomamii 63 points 1y ago
do you know is the updated dresscode has been posted or leaked?!?!
jamieisntgay 3 points 1y ago
Where?
nicolelynnejones 53 points 1y ago
if they updated the color scheme it would be incredible. i have so much clothing i’d love to wear to work but instead i have to rotate the same few navy shirts
gabby24681 3 points 1y ago
Ooh will it be in the weekly update?
demigirlhailee 165 points 1y ago
according to corporate? no. according to your store manager? 🤷🏼‍♀️ mine lets several partners get away with board shorts and anything that isn't inherently a food or work safety issue as long as our DM isn't coming in.
canidieyet_ 75 points 1y ago
my SM let someone get away with a white, sleeveless minidress but i couldn’t wear a red flannel on red cup day 🙄 favoritism is a disease man
jokekiller94 8 points 1y ago
My old store lead let everyone in leggings lol
devilsreject4926 111 points 1y ago
No, the color is out of dresscode. Looks nice tho.
mulderufo13 58 points 1y ago
At my store they probably be happy u showed up. I don’t seen an issue but corporate would
Alternative_Exam3723 24 points 1y ago
Same😂 unless you’re a girl wearing joggers. Only the boys get away with it😂 we get sent home to change.
OkPudding1246 9 points 1y ago
Anytime I wear my joggers I get in trouble, but we have a guy who wears the same joggers I own every single day and there’s never been an issue!
Alternative_Exam3723 3 points 1y ago
It’s so dumb🙄 like come on!
csaine 30 points 1y ago
Red/purple is not in the current color pallet
ItzBoogieMan 4 points 1y ago
burgundy
csaine 7 points 1y ago
Burgundy is also not in the color pallet
SNES182 27 points 1y ago
Yikes. Bunch of uniform lovers in here. If your manager is cool you’ll be fine. Corporate would say no, but even our DM let us where plaid/small print shirts.
ItzBoogieMan 9 points 1y ago
This, I wear burgundy shirts here and there. It’s fine
VirtualPen9912 27 points 1y ago
Mmmmmm not in the color pallete.
Starbucks.com/dresscode
august401 26 points 1y ago
depends if your sm is cool or not
takodiyaki 17 points 1y ago
depends on your store. someone at mine wore minion leggings today
Leo_br00ks 14 points 1y ago
My favorite shifts were when I got called in last minute, and would double check “hey i can’t make it home so I will be out of dress code is that okay” and it was always okay because what are they going to say.

I would show up wearing neon everything and be as chaotic as possible. Sometimes flip flops, one time I had a suit on, bright colored shorts/shirt, etc
subaruforesters 14 points 1y ago
I don't think so
majik_rose [OP] 13 points 1y ago
They look purply in the photo but they’re more of an oxblood irl
Salt_Razzmatazz_2064 39 points 1y ago
Neither purple or red is in the color palette tho
Expecto_nihilus 10 points 1y ago
Even if you get away with flying under dress code, don’t ruin them! They look awesome and wouldn’t survive a shift at Sbux.
mercredi7 10 points 1y ago
Where did u get them 🫣
majik_rose [OP] 14 points 1y ago
I thrifted them actually, I’m on the fence ab wearing them at all tho as they’re vintage 70s deadstock 😅😅
gabby24681 19 points 1y ago
Yeah maybe just take advantage of not being able to wear them at work and don’t get them messed up lol
noeyoureatowel 6 points 1y ago
Oh bb don’t wear those to work! You just know you’re gonna get bleach on them the first time.
Chance_One_75 1 points 1y ago
Customer here. Is there a dress code at Starbucks?
caitalonas 3 points 1y ago
Yes, but there is a lot of stuff we can wear. Basically food safe shoes, no sleeveless shirts, super short bottoms or leggings (unless under a dress). There’s a color palette also as to “not distract from the apron”
Chance_One_75 2 points 1y ago
Yeah, all I notice are the green aprons. Yet I’d be more concerned if you get a stain on that color of paints due to working around different blends.
Chance_One_75 1 points 1y ago
Sorry, pants. Not paints.
idiotgalore 4 points 1y ago
wondering the same thing!! i love those pants
istolehannah 9 points 1y ago
Wasn’t paying attention to the sub as I was scrolling through my feed and I was like “duh you can get away with wearing those! They obviously look great! Why do you even need to ask?” Then I saw the sub. I must be loopy from opening the last couple days with very little sleep…

Anyway I hope the dress code updates allow you to wear these!
No-Amphibian-3177 9 points 1y ago
i wear my green pants all the time and also vans so i really think it depends on ur store / how long you’ve worked there
duckenjoyer69 6 points 1y ago
Are you a model
NicolePikapi 6 points 1y ago
Since mine is a licensed store we have to wear black polos and pants. No jeans no color :(
mama_bibi 4 points 1y ago
This is how my licensed store was too. We got away with leggings for a looooong time and then that stopped. We could wear black jeans it dress pants that was it
lizzie9234 2 points 1y ago
omg what licensed store or like company? i’ve worked one and never had a set uniform
NicolePikapi 1 points 10m ago
I work at a Safeway. I’ve read on store link that licensed stores are allowed to wear other things but district managers say otherwise 🙃
Minute-General-2090 2 points 1y ago
my store.... If you show up, no one notices what you wear as long as your there for your shift
BaristaBabe13 2 points 1y ago
I think they look great, however, like others said, check with store manager, some have different options on the color palate.
maggiethrowwaway 2 points 1y ago
depends on your store, i got away with purple docs my entire time at starbucks
saddestgirl1995 2 points 1y ago
If your SM is out and your SSVs aren't hardasses yeah hahahah
JEXTZZ 2 points 1y ago
Depending on your manager. if they are chill then yes if not no
mama_bibi 2 points 1y ago
Looks brown to me
MichaelnotMe 2 points 1y ago
I wear anything I want every single day, pink T-shirts? Yup. Dyed purple ones? Yup. Lime green? Yep. Baggy pants in all sorts of colours? Yep. I like to get creative and never had a problem. Manager likes it and always compliments me. I recently got promoted too

Edit: Those look bomb on u btw. Just go for it and if anything occurs just play it cool and don’t wear them again :)))
ckt1138 2 points 1y ago
I have worn burgundy/plum pants, they kinda look brownish under the dim lights and with the green apron in front. Honestly, I'd just try it, you'll at worst get told not to wear them again, it's far more work and headache to send someone home to change than it's worth.

The pallette crap is all total bullshit anyway, in my experience most SM's don't care at all.
CobaltLemon 3 points 1y ago
We would be sent home to change at my old store. My SM was lovely, but a stickler for the dress code. I wore shorts before that weren't navy, but more of a cerulean.
Ok-Mix-5129 2 points 1y ago
No
Erbearlee 1 points 1y ago
Not color appropriate technically.

But want I really want to know is, why do people try to wear nice stuff to a place where you get splattered on all day? And that's just if you are working on the floor. If you do any kind of cleaning, it's even worse, especially floors. And even if you manage to stay clean, everything will smell like coffee forever.

I have $10 jeans and $5 shirts from walmart. That's all I wear to work ever. I know not everyone takes my route but its way easier to stomach destroying a $5 shirt than a $30 blouse.
Ok_Beautiful_4056 1 points 1y ago
One of my shifts-in-training wore a pair of light green pants today and as far as I know wasn’t spoken to but purple slacks probably wouldn’t fly.

Ren_Chelm 1 points 1y ago
Off topic but where did you get that top?
majik_rose [OP] 1 points 1y ago
Thrifted and the tag was cut out so idk what brand, if I had to guess I would say it was originally from shein
Ren_Chelm 1 points 1y ago
Lmao thanks, idk if my waist would look that good in it tho 😅
champshere 1 points 1y ago
Only one way to find out. What are they gunna do send you home? Lol
floofxs2 1 points 1y ago
I don’t think I’d get coded at either store I’ve worked at.
Blue-Sky1325 1 points 1y ago
Currently no, but with the dress code updates soon who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️
confusedUnicorn7 1 points 1y ago
You can wear them on fridays to honor fallen veterans and current veterans
Former-Jello-4670 1 points 1y ago
i’m fr wearing a burgundy shirt right now waiting for my shift to show up to open. you can for sure wear them if your managers are chill :)
Pylon-Cam 1 points 1y ago
Completely depends on your store. I worked at Starbucks for three years and often wore colors that weren’t in the dress code palate, and my SM only commented on it twice (once for wearing pink shorts, another time for wearing my apple watch on the floor).

If you’re otherwise a good barista and your store’s management isn’t ridiculously strict, the worst they’d likely do is nicely ask you not to wear them again in the future. That’s if they say anything at all.
ScarletNebula25 1 points 1y ago
You might be able to at my store-

On that note, are belt loop chains and stuff hanging like that allowed? I'll probably try it either way, but I want to be prepared ^^
majik_rose [OP] 1 points 1y ago
Oh that’s just the clothing tag
mama_bibi 1 points 1y ago
They aren't allowed but more for a safety reason. Like so you don't get caught up on something while you're running around like a crazy person for however many hours
florencelovelace 1 points 1y ago
depends if your sm is cool or not
thenannybro 1 points 1y ago
No but I break dress code anyways 💀💀
overturned23 1 points 1y ago
no out of dress code
3aTroop 1 points 1y ago
Love the color but they wouldn’t fly.
Jefferson_steelflex- 0 points 1y ago
