Why am I the way that I am (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by lilkiosk
I left the siren after 2 years 2 months ago… I hate my current job *that I wanted so badly* so much I just applied to be a shift at a different store that’s closer to me than my old store… I’m already mourning my current full set of nails. Please send thoughts and prayers…

(Adding on that despite customers and the fact that we totally deserve better pay, my coworkers at Starbucks were my favorite people in the world and honestly I loved the job. And I really only quit because I overestimated myself and my ability to work two jobs as a parent and spouse.)

Working at Starbucks as a parent is so much better than other options I’ve tried. I can take my son to school and pick him up, be off early or take the day off for his events, he thinks pumpkin bread is the best thing ever invented and has an endless supply. I really like the flexibility and that I can change it when I need to for him

Oh yes you are so right. I loved when I was only working at Starbucks. It was great and so flexible. And my oldest son has an addiction to pumpkin bread, so I really need to get that discount back

How can you provide for you and your child working at Starbucks???? Do you plan on working there until retirement?

I work at around 30 hours a week, I live with my partner and we split bills. Mainly my son is autistic and needs more than a neurotypical kid may need, so I have to have a flexible schedule. I make it work, he never has needs or wants that don’t get met. We’re chillin
