So I learned recently that as I train in a different store while waiting for mine to open, I do not receive tips, as my new store isn’t open yet. Has anybody else dealt with this situation? How did you handle/get it resolved?

I’m being told that because I’m working under labor for my new location, and it hasn’t opened and therefore isn’t bringing in tips, so those of us going to the new store won’t start receiving them till we actually open.

i’m not sure what exactly you were told (i.e., how it was phrased), but these can both be true!
by which i mean it’s likely that
(1) as the other commenter said, you’re getting tips from the store you’re training at (which you should; you get tips as a “borrowed partner” working at a different store, and you get tips for training hours), AND
(2) you’re not getting tips from your “home” store since it’s not yet open and so there are no tips to split
that said, it is also possible that the other store/your district/whoever gave you this information isn’t completely clear on how tips work. if needed, you can escalate to the SM/DM/PCC to get clarification/the tips you earned
by which i mean it’s likely that
