I can’t work out what goes in with the expresso to make the coffee cold

Wait im so confused. Are u talking about iced coffee or an espresso based drink?
kurokittie 24 points 1y ago
ice.
taralyy 15 points 1y ago
there’s no espresso in an iced coffee. our iced coffee is made by just brewing our iced coffee blend and adding ice to it.
golden_gnome88 9 points 1y ago
Iced coffee comes from the brewer station and espresso comes from the espresso machines. They will both come out very hot and need the appropriate amount of ice added. Don't get discouraged and keep asking questions! It can be a lot to take in at once. :)

I think some people are thrown off because iced coffee and iced espresso drinks (like a latte) are different.

Iced coffee: take a bag of iced coffee grounds, load it into the coffee brewer, and brew on half batch. Make sure to brew into a big cube. Do this twice. Once done, top off with a few scoops of ice and it'll cool down fairly quickly. That gets poured into a cup and then top with ice.

Iced espresso drink (using latte as example): any syrups + espresso into cup, pour cold / un steamed milk on top, and finish with ice.

Hope this helped!!!

^^

though to clarify, our iced coffee comes in 5oz and 9oz sizes - brew the 5oz on 1/4 batch (makes one pitcher; at our store we brew into the same urns we use for drip coffee like Pike, then dispense into a pitcher and add ice to the top line), or brew the 9oz on 1/2 batch (makes two pitchers)
kittykaty14 2 points 1y ago
I didn't know this because my store only gets the 9oz size. Great info thank you!

Thank you, this is exactly what I was after. I kept adding milk to try and cool it down, resulting in it being very milky and a latte based iced coffee which is what I did not want
BirthdayOk1649 1 points 11m ago
Yes! For the half batch it gets 4 venti scoops of ice, so I’d assume the smaller one gets two.
strawbrryshrtcke 6 points 1y ago
ice ?
cassityaa [OP] -13 points 1y ago
But then if you drink right away do you not get a mouth full of ice ?
strawbrryshrtcke 16 points 1y ago
i'm so confused have u never had a drink with ice inside before
cassityaa [OP] -7 points 1y ago
Of course I have but cold drinks to start with.

Are you able to just explain the process for me please as something straight forward for you might not be for me hence why I come on here asking for help
strawbrryshrtcke 5 points 1y ago
there really isn't much to explain tho??? u just mix the shots of espresso with cold water or milk or any dairy alternative and add some ice. it's not a hard concept to grasp
aspiringgrandpa 2 points 1y ago
iced coffee is made with the coffee brewer, then split into two pitchers so they’re half full and filled to the top with ice. the ice in the iced coffee melts, then when we MAKE the iced coffee we pour the cold coffee into a cup and add more ice. for espresso drinks it’s espresso, then cold milk, then ice.
FoxyOnTheRun_ 0 points 1y ago
Are you maybe thinking of the nitro? The cold one that comes from the keg and is served without ice?
BabyH1ppo 3 points 1y ago
Even after reading comments I can't figure out of OP is joking.. Like.. They have to be joking.... Right??
cassityaa [OP] 1 points 1y ago
Why would I be joking ?
I was struggling with one getting it cool and two the taste when cool.

I have a delonghi bean to cup coffee machine
PerspectiveCapable98 2 points 1y ago
Ur question made no sense but, I’ve coffee is literally dripped coffee ground to a coarser grind and then brewed and Ice is sat on top of it
Ghost_Venom_ 2 points 1y ago
What drink are you struggling with specifically? An iced coffee or an espresso based iced drink such as an americano or a latte?
maine_coon2123 1 points 1y ago
For iced espresso, I pull the shots and cool them with just a couple small cubes of ice so they aren’t piping hot. Then I pile on ice on top and the ice stays solid.
luvduvbunny 1 points 1y ago
It goes hot coffee + ice = iced coffee
lakoooter -20 points 1y ago
caramel iced coffee= caramel frap
clouds183 14 points 1y ago
caramel iced coffee = iced coffee with classic and caramel syrup, not a frap
lakoooter -15 points 1y ago
no
Lady_Grey21 7 points 1y ago
Yes? It is? Except no one actually puts the classic

Edit: am now realizing this was a joke. I just got off work at Starbs I have no brain cells left for the day
