how do i quit (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by BrushWeak106
i know this seems silly but i really am unsure on how i should go about quitting.

should i text my manager letting her know? should i text her asking to connect next time we see eachother? is there a form i need to fill out? can i be casual about it or do i have to go and sit having a 1 on 1 with my manager.

if i text her asking to connect and she asks in regards to what, can i just flat out say i want to put in my 2 weeks? this is so awkward. let me know

hey! so i wouldn't text anything, as that's not seen as an official form of communication. i would recommend writing a letter that says you're quitting; be sure to list your last available all date. all you need to say is that you're quitting and the date, a reason is not required but you can give one if you choose. it can truly be as simple as "i would like to give my formal notice. the last day i can work is \*date\*." then email that to your manager! it would also be a good idea to print out the letter, and bring it with you to your next shift where you'll see them, and just have a quick conversation to touch base about it.

Lol, I texted my manager and he started the separation process. Then I changed my mind and he said he couldn't reverse the process

It doesn’t hurt to add a thank you to them and the other staff for your time with them and what you’ve learned. It’s always best to go out in on good note so you can ask for references for jobs later.

I just put in a notice, I did a 1 on 1, and she was annoyed cuz she’s loosing like 5 other people, but she just said she’ll stop scheduling me
