I've never received a pin for anything at either store I've worked at. Some stores just don't really do stuff like that.

it’s definitely meant to be a coffee branch because it shows how you’ve “grown” from a beansprout to a full coffee plant!!

I think this pin is a relatively new design. I got a boring "certified barista" pin back in the day. Your SM/SSV can order those pins and others along with your large weekly order.
Disclaimer: From what I've seen, giving them out is usually an afterthought. Meaning.... if your SM is one of those all-business types, they'll probably forget to give you one. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Oh oops, my bad! MUG stands for moves of uncommon greatness. The barista certified pin was the only “new barista” pin I’m aware of!
