It's the production date. They were made on that date, they're then frozen and shipped/stored until purchase

the production date for the pastries and stuff are usually a few months behind from when we actually sell them. I asked this same question to one of my supervisors, and their explanation was that they’re frozen after being produced and kept frozen until we de-thaw them to sell!

My dad bought it like this and he noticed that and he’s wondering what that means. I’ve been working at Starbucks for quite awhile now and I don’t even know what that means.

I would assume it’s the production date

Right? That’s what I said to my dad and he goes, “Well, it was 2 months ago.” … Idk how to explain it to him. 😅

Does he not realize that almost every prepackaged food sold in stores was not made instantaneously right before you purchased it? Most food is mass produced and takes weeks, if not months to be shipped out before consumption. That’s why most foods contain a bunch of preservatives to keep the food from expiring. If you thaw the frozen food, it should be eaten within 2 days or else it starts developing bacteria and mold.
