Am I overthinking about my interview? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by yunggreat
UPDATE: I GOT THE JOB! I was overthinking lol

So I had an interview at a job/hiring fair yesterday and I think it went really well. The manager I interviewed with kept saying how much she loved
my answers/responses and that we were really similar. I'm SUPER available and am central to like 5 different locations so that's desirable? I think lol. I saw that a lot of ppl on here got hired on the spot but she said I'd get a call within a week. Am I overthinking? Has anyone actually gotten a call within a week?

we just had a job fair recently and the only reason we hired on the spot was because our location just wasn’t getting a lot of applications. if there’s a high volume of candidates they need to sift through them! be patient, and if you don’t get a call just give them a gentle reminder :)

Overthinking it most likely. SM probably needs to check if your availability lines up with what the store needs (and if you’re at a job fair, I’m assuming there’s more than one potential candidate so the manager will need time to sort out everyone and look for the best fit). I definitely think the biggest factor for the barista job is availability followed by how the manager thinks you’ll fit with the current store.

Overthinking most likely. I did get hired on the spot, but the store was super understaffed and in the process of shifting to new management. I wish it wasn’t so short staffed tbh so my training might have been decent. I hope the best for you! :)
