Can I get in trouble for this?(self.starbucksbaristas)

I made a grilled cheese for my lunch (butter side up, extra toasted, cause it’s always better that way lol) and some of the butter dripped off of the wax paper into the oven…a few minutes later, a coworker made a bacon gouda and when he pulled it out of the oven, butter flew out onto his arm and he got a nasty burn. Can I get in trouble for this since it was my sandwich that ultimately caused the burn? Do I need to file an incident report if he chooses not to? I’m having a lot of anxiety over this and I already apologized to him several times.

No, it’s absolutely the company’s fault for expecting us to heat so much so fast with only wax paper and a pair of tongs to do it

None of that was your fault lol, if a customer had ordered that grilled cheese instead of you, would the customer be liable to repay the barista in some way?

Whoever was the shift is responsible for reporting incidents. The shift can get written up for not doing it. I want to say it can be an automatic final warning, but I’m not too sure.

Remember to breathe. Relax. All of this was an accident, and none of it was your fault.
The responsibility of filling out an incident report belongs to your boss. If the one injured doesn't want to fill one out, the boss is responsible for encouraging them to do so. These accidents happen from time to time. Please don't beat yourself up about it.
