so i live in mass but go to college in Chicago and I tried to transfer to a few stores close to my school. I want to keep working for Starbucks and I use a lot of the benefits but every single one I called (4!!!!) is either fully staffed or only hiring people working full time (I’m looking for around 12-20 hours). I don’t think there’s anything else I can do than find another job. I really don’t want to quit idk what to do :(

I was in a similar situation a few months ago. I ended up taking a leave of absence (you're give a month. I ended up having 1.5 months off bc my manager let me stay without being scheduled for 2 weeks, and I was given 1 month LoA after those two weeks were up), used up all my vacation hours to support myself in the meantime. Kept calling stores until one said they could take me. In my experience, stores in college towns have openings semi-often because they get really busy during the school years (managers might feel they now need to hire more people) or students leave for whatever reason.
