Starbucks will be requiring partners to be available at least 18 hours/week and you will be scheduled a minimum of 12 hours/week unless you have requested time off. This is a new expectation that will be written and be a company wide standard. If you are available for less then 18 hours/week currently and do not work at least 12 hours/week based on your availability, then you will be separated if you do not open up your availability. This is VOLUNTARY separation in that you can open your availability in order to prevent being terminated. If you simply aren’t available a minimum of 18 hours then you simply do not meet the scheduling requirement to continue to be employed by Strbucks.

This doesn't start till August
kimjafo9 points11m ago
I’ve been getting these kinds of hours since February and I have a big availability.
persona-21 points11m ago
October. August for transfers or new hires.

a lot of my coworkers are having this issue even though my manager has promised us at least 3 times that our hours will increase 😻
LovelyLatte [OP]10 points11m ago
my store too! what is going on?? we got bills to pay!😭
burntsriracha3 points11m ago
same, normally i get 20-24 hrs and for the next two weeks im getting like 15, and whats worse is my manager is just copying and pasting everyone’s schedules🤦♀️ so many coworkers have said they have the same exact schedule for multiple weeks
Fine-Entrepreneur-613 points11m ago
this was me all of my senior year and i left to jewel working 40 hrs a week w better pay, i suggest everyone else to do the same. starbucks was fun but not worth the little money and little hours
Starbucks_IVF_MAMA11 points11m ago
Starting August 1st they're going to involuntarily separate partners who don't maintain a minimum of 12 hours a week
LovelyLatte [OP]13 points11m ago
omg really?? i literally have full availability im just not being scheduled??
Logical-Doubt-60215 points11m ago
Fr?? where did you hear this?

In that case you'd be on medical LOA and automatically receive 20hrs a week
devilsreject49261 points11m ago
I've had it happen multiple times before and they didn't put me on LOA. They tried to write me up because I didn't inform them - which I couldn't, because my phone was taken away and I was locked up in a ward. So I'm not sure how that works.
gabbysafari6 points11m ago
NO LITERALLY 🥲 i was already getting only 25 hrs/week past few months while asking for 35 but now i’m down to 12 😭
overturned235 points11m ago
I went from 28 to 25 this week (picks back up at 30.5 next week) so I’m think that starbucks told managers they need to reduce labor again
graylikesoap3 points11m ago
thank god it’s not just me. i have been scheduled two shifts for a period of three weeks. how am i supposed to live???
flamingavocados3 points11m ago
Yep. Went from 17 hours to 11 🫠
Terrible_Middle_10392 points11m ago
I went from consistently working 40 hours a week to 10. We’re in a college town and severely understaffed (all our team quit or left due to bad management/leaving school to go home) and so it was easy to get 40 hours. Well, now we’re understaffed and my manager is only giving us about 20 hours max. Only the baristas that’ve been in the store 4+yrs are getting around 30-40. Talk about special treatment. I don’t necessarily know why this is happening either being honest.
Designer-Hunter-702 points11m ago
Yeah, my manager gave me such bull shit answers and now im working alot with the new rules. I swear she doesn't actually want me to work lmao
PerspectiveCapable982 points11m ago
I’m getting hours but they’re trying so hard not to schedule me 40 hrs like I work 5 days a week 4 days 7:30-4:00 and one day 7:30-3:00💀
Temporary-Crab-20542 points11m ago
I asked my SM to borrow me to other stores and pick up shifts on marketplace. Mine went down too
billiesqueen1 points11m ago
experiencing something similar at my store. i usually get around 30 and now i’m at 16 😭
punchbunny261 points11m ago
my manger is trying to kill me with these 10.50 hour weeks i feel you
alibranden1 points11m ago
Yep, I'm quitting in about a week or two, I've asked for 20-30 hours when I was hired and 3 times after that, in a span of three months. I'm getting 4-8 hrs a week and the only time I get at least 20 hours is working at other stores that are 20-30 minutes away from me
holldizzle0241 points11m ago
no actually… can’t relate, i’ve been scheduled about 15 a week for the whole summer, now as i’m preparing to leave for school i’m up to 35🙃
lizzygr2ntt1 points11m ago
same thing happening for my store as well! i think it’s most likely other partners trying to get as many hours as possible before leaving for college/ new hires before the quarter ends?

Went from 18 hours to 12 hours 🫤 but my hours slowly came back and went away again
