Home store not giving many hours? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Bellaboo___
Hey everyone,

I am currently still at my training store until next week. My home store is making the schedule for the next few weeks and I am noticing it’s only small shifts such as 4 hour or 5 hour shifts for two days a week.

I know, I got too comfortable with these training shifts my training store gave me. I opened my availability and I can virtually work anytime until school starts.

Since I am new, should I expect that? Are they trying to see if I’m reliable?

Because if not, that’s just mean 🤣

Thanks everyone!

Could be wrong but pretty sure there is a mostly company wide push to reduce labor costs meaning, less hours for pretty much everyone and being extremely short staffed, like even worse than normal.

If you're still being hitched to your trainer that could be a large factor since now you're also restricted by their schedule.

Though like Jex said just give time, as a newer person you simply may not have the same worth on the floor, especially if your store is training others, they don't want to stick a shift with 2 partners who are still fresh out of training on a close, makes things tough.

If it's still an issue in 2 weeks, then talk to the SM or ASM, whichever does scheduling.

4-5 hours isn’t bad. Since your still new give it time. Like a week or 2 and if you are still getting little hours talk to your manager. Also try looking at the shift market place
