How are Iced Espresso Drinks made?(self.starbucksbaristas)

There’s a debate where it’s only a tall scoop of ice, there other is the cup is full of ice, which is it?

I was trained the cup should be full of ice and the espresso should be pulled over the ice. And then swirl it when it's done and top it off with more ice, cream and sugar if applicable.

that’s how i was trained too, but apparently there’s a new “update” that it’s a tall scoop of ice, but even my store manager doesn’t know where this is coming from, one of the shift leads keeps insisting it’s true

That's interesting. I would ask the shift for proof of that or find the recipe card to show them.

It’s in the iPad. Just search iced espresso under store resources.

If there was a new update there would be a paper trial your Gm could easily find.

i was told to pour shots first and then the scoop of ice that corresponds to the cup size

1. Grab a iced tall cup 2. Queue your espresso shots 3. After queuing, add a tall scoop of ice 4. Let the shots pull over the cup of ice 5. Put lid on and hand out
You can take a look at the recipe card in the Store Resources section of your store iPad. To get to it: Store Resources -> Beverages (Core) -> Iced Espresso. According to the recipe card, unless the customer specifies less/extra ice it's going to be a tall scoop of ice regardless if they want it in a grande/venti cup.
This recipe card did come out this year and I don't believe there was one established before? so this recipe card is technically new. I think this was mentioned in either the Now Brewing Summer 1 or Summer 2 newsletter which you should also be able to search up in the Store Resources app (they might live under the Communications or Siren's Eye folder).
