Great coworkers were the only reason (besides a few amazing regulars) that made the job tolerable. Transfer stores citing “partner experience” as your reason.

Also warming sucks. It’s nice to get a break from DTO but warming is the worst. I’d rather be CS all day.

My store is so toxic it’s not even funny. My coworkers yesterday claimed that I was difficult to work with yesterday because I was “too quiet”
But honestly I just have no idea what to talk about when I’m working with the morning crew. It’s clear they have a “clique” going on. And any time I would try and make conversation, the headsets go quiet. When I don’t talk, they complain I’m too “awkward”
But honestly, the biggest reason why I was so quiet yesterday is because the morning crew was cracking jokes about “Spanish” and laughing at how “white they sound” when they speak Spanish. I’m the only Hispanic in the store and the wording of what they were saying, it straight up just made me feel weird. So I stayed quiet and to myself. I didn’t go to the store manager or anything like that, I just minded my own business. But what has me overall heated, the morning crew wanted to express how they felt I was moving too slow while working CS yesterday. All because they had to ask me twice to grab them ice. At my store, we make it clear that if baristas need something, you COMMUNICATE with the CS. Simple communication for them though means that I’m not moving fast enough. They want their ice buckets filled without being asked, lids stocked without being asked, which I understand. I strive to be that kind of worker when I’m on CS. But there’s so much to take into consideration in the situation, that morning crew legit doesn’t care about.

Have a talk with the SSV and/or manager. I’d understand not working bar if you’re a green bean during peak but you said you’re a year in so I strongly believe you’re just not getting the opportunity to showcase your bar skills. Also, between August 1-14, all baristas are getting extra training to reinforce drink sequencing and drink standards so that’s also prime time to bring up alternating roles in order to be a stronger barista. All in all, if SSV and/or manager doesn’t listen, you don’t really have another option besides quitting/transferring.
