the past few shifts ive worked ive been on dto the entire time and for the past few weeks ive been doing mostly dto and covering for peoples breaks. i hate window so much but i understand that it’s part of the job, but i feel like i should be able to work on more positions. especially when the shifts just put their friends and family on bar. i don’t know how to say anything about this and i doubt it’d make a difference if i did and i just want to quit. and then half the time im on window they just shove me in the corner and forget about me and i don’t even get breaks.
what would be the quickest way to quit? i don’t know if i can do another two weeks im already crying after every shift. is there any other way for me to quit politely?

This is literally what got me to leave Starbucks.
I used to be thrown on DTO for 6 1/2 hours out of an 8 hour shifts. I brought it up to my SSV and Shifts and nothing changed.
You can always talk to your SM, but at the end of the day the shifts know they keep putting you there because it's easily one of the most difficult positions.
My advice is to ateast talk to your team they may be different then my experience. But I would also suggest applying to other jobs, either similar ones or even something like a receptionist, that was my next job after Starbucks!

Maybe transfer? I know Starbucks can SUCK. And there’s been days where I’ve been put on dto/dtr for days on end and it sucks I know believe me. How long have you been there? Maybe apply to be a trainer if you are knowledgeable of on bar. I’m a trainer now and love it

Are you new? And pm? If so this is kinda normal. They should be regularly putting you on bar for shorter time periods when it’s slow so you can build that skill though.
If your in peak always talk to the sm about scheduling outside of peak. You can learn anything when it’s that busy.
If your not in peak talk to the SSVs about other positions. And if your not there on bar yet ask about CS or warming so you can get a break from dto/DTR.

i started again about 4 months ago (and worked at starbucks for almost a year previously so i know all the recipes) and was being placed at all positions pretty equally up until now. a few new shifts just got hired and two of them (the ones that work similar shifts to me) are the ones that only put me on dto/window and put themselves on bar.

Talk to them. If that doesn’t work talk to the sm. If that doesn’t work then transfer. You will be at your 6 month make by then so you don’t need the special approval to transfer.
