One of the most embarrassing interactions I had with a customer (self.starbucksbaristas)

When the pistachio flavor was released the second time, I had a lot of people asking me what it tasted like. Now I don't know about everyone else but when it comes to describing tastes to other people, I'm literally awful at it. The second someone asks me to describe the taste of the Pink Drink, I immediately revert to telling them the ingredients because otherwise I will just say it tastes like strawberry juice with coconut milk; which seems to never be enough for people.
so I had one woman come in and ask me what the pistachio tasted like and that she loves pistachios and doesn't want it to taste bad. I told her it wasn't as bad as I was expecting as someone who DOESNT like pistachios and proceeded to say, "It's not as bad as I though it was, like, it doesn't taste like a raw nut in your mouth."
A. RAW. NUT. IN. YOUR. MOUTH.
I don't know what possessed me to say that but we kind of just looked at each other, I laughed it off and she ordered it and we just kind of pretended I didn't say that but trust me when I got off, I went home and thought about it for 30 minutes.

Years ago someone was asking about our pastries because of a nut allergy. My brain left town and I couldn’t think of the wording of “processed in a facility with nuts” so what came out was “there is always the possibility of… nut dust.”

one time i was working dt window and this guy got a banana nut loaf and i meant to say “let me go grab your banana nut loaf” but all that came out was “let me grab your nut” i had my coworker hand it out because i was so embarrassed

A few days ago I dropped the scanner twice in a row and the customer l was helping asked “are you okay? Do you want to talk about it” I then proceeded to slip and fall as l was walking to bar to start on their drinks 😭

thank you for the help with the pink drink description. i have a coworker who would constantly interrupt me when trying to explain the flavor yelling “ITS LIKE A CREAMY…A CREAMY…A CREAMY JOLLY RANCHER.” and i never knew how to feel with amount of times he said ~creamy~

I'm 99% sure she heard it but for whatever reason she's still a regular. I just most fortunately don't run into her that often
