You’re going to drop something, spill things, hand out the wrong drink, fumble through recipes. It’s cool, don’t sweat it. Have a positive attitude when someone tries to correct you, it’s their job and it’s not personal. I have the hardest time correcting new people that get defensive because I don’t want them to have a bad experience at work, and I want to maintain good relationships with my baristas- but I need them to be trained well. You’ll get it eventually but NOBODY gets it right away.

You’ll most likely make a lot of mistakes for a while, almost everyone does. So ask questions and don’t be too hard on yourself.

Have fun!! And wear non slip shoes or shoes with good grip if you can. They say we can wear our own shoes (within reason) if we accept the responsibility if we fall, but it’s too slippery for all that. I def recommend shoes with good traction! Beverage sequencing is the hardest thing to nab down in my opinion. They’ll explain it, and you’ll learn about it in training so pay attention to that when they mention it.
Other than that, just try and absorb as much as you can, there’s always Partner Resources to study. :)

dont be afraid to ask questions!! one of your greatest resources are the partners around you. this job has been incredibly fun for me, once i was able to not let my anxiety / fear of seeming dumb control me. asking questions is your best friend. :) your first shift will likely consist of e-learning / coffee tasting! how exciting! good luck <3
