To the baristas who have tons of pins/buttons on their aprons — how often do you wash them?? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I have tons of Starbucks and non-Starbucks enamel pins stemming from my sister and I both collecting them. I’ve seen so many people cover their aprons with pine and when partners see the ones I have on my backpack, I’m often asked why I don’t put them on my apron. I am almost always on bar or CS, so I wash my apron either after every shift, maybe every other if it wasn’t too messy. Even with my secure pin backs, I wouldn’t want to put them through the wash and dryer so often, nor do I want an apron full of tiny holes.
So what do you all do? Take them off every time, or put it in the wash with the pins? Or do you not wear pins for the same reason as me?

i take them off every time and wash them. it’s a bit of a hassle but i’m someone who hates dirty things so, while it pains me to do such a thing every time, i do it for my own internal peace.

i wash my pins by just rubbing them with a wet paper towel. i’m also on bar a lot, though i don’t seem to get my apron dirty all that often. i wash my aprons on my days off (like i’ll wear the same apron if i have three days in a row, then wash it on the day off). i use both enamel and safety-pin like pins, i’ve never had any issues with holes or anything. hope this helps!

I would never risk putting my pins through the wash. I wash my aprons normally, then if my pins are sticky with syrup/milk I'll use a q-tip and some isopropyl alcohol. Usually hang dry the aprons while they're still damp and arrange the pins how I want them. Then by the morning it's ready to go!

I don't have a lot of pins but I've secured 4 aprons and try to mostly only wear them 1-2 times between washes. If I'm wearing one I've already used that week I'll try to spot clean any visible yuckiness the night before.

I put my pins on my hat so I don’t have to worry about taking the pins off my apron every-time I wash the apron. Also we have bags of aprons so we use one and at the end of the shift throw it in a bag (Cintas comes once a weeks and replaces our bags with clean fresh aprons) and there have been times I’ve lost name tags by forgetting to take off before throwing my apron away

i only have two aprons so far but many pins so i’ve decided to slowly rip One apron to shreds with pin holes from removing them every wash and leave the other one alone :) idk how i came up with this but idk it’s an option .

2-3 wears, and I swap them out whenever I wash them. I have so many pins it lets me rotate the collection.

i wear an apron for 5 days and wash it over the weekend so I just transfer the pins to a new apron. my aprons don't get that dirty day to day

i wash my pins and they’re fine. sometimes the backs come off but they’ll be in the bottom doesn’t bother me. idk why you’re drying your apron in the dryer i just hang mine up to air dry

I have 4 aprons and each has 3 or 4 pins. I take them off when its time to wash & use pin locks to keep them from getting loose or broken from taking them off so much.

Another cool thing rather than putting it on your apron. I put mine on my hat, it’s cool looking and I never have to wash it lol
