[Trenta rant] This place is inhumane. (self.starbucksbaristas)

I am so tired. I was hired a few months ago for a store that was being built. Yesterday it opened for the first time and it was miserable. I had work again today and we were extremely understaffed. If a partner wasn't kind enough to stay with us to close, we would have only had three people, one of which is new and learning the ropes.

I was put onto both bars. I knew I wouldn't be able to manage them both well because the store is very busy. Working at the bar and having the customers stare and linger was miserable. To add onto it, when the shift started running 10s, I had to not only do bar, but also pretty much do dto because of the new partner. I would also ask for things such as ice refills and more lemonade over the headset and was ignored constantly even if I repeated myself. The printer also ran out of paper, leaving me stranded as I tried to keep pumping drinks out for the drive thru.

My shift didn't get to even start the pull until AFTER we closed at 9. We left at 10:40. I have never been more miserable.

welcome to starbucks where your life is a nightmare sometimes.

once i had to dto/dtr and help on bar during peak. like obv during peak they’re not gonna have you dto/dtr because that would be hell and you need your numbers to keep going smoothly… my main role was dtr but the person on dto was literally like 2 days fresh new and then decided to put them on dto during… peak… with no trainer. anyways, i had a headset on so even though i was trying to make conversation with customers and hand out their drinks, i had to sometimes stop conversation mid sentence to help dto person because they didn’t know how the screen worked.. which, i get it…. but sometimes i wouldn’t hear the customer and would ask them to repeat themselves and they would get annoyed at me. then, on bar… the person on bar was fine but sometimes they’d forget drinks midway and i’d always have to finish them up to hand them out to customers… it was hell that day

i haaaate the customers in drive thru that don’t understand i am forced to do three different positions in the morning. today an opener called out so i came in to open, it wasn’t too bad in the beginning but once it picked up i was doing dto, pos, and drive thru hot bar helping on cold bar. it was hell, and it was especially hell trying to talk to the rude ass customers who had mobiles but wouldn’t speak up, then when we asked them to they’d YELL at us into my ear and hurt me. people need more fucking patience it pains me
