exactly what the other comment said. sometimes to make it easier for myself, i’ll make it in a gr cup and then dump the contents into a venti so at least you know they’re getting what they’re paying for
Mea-fae_Owl7332 points11m ago
I do the exact same thing! I’ve told plenty of customers “this is what you ordered and what you are paying for. If you want more I’ll be happy to charge you the difference for more”. I do occasionally have customers who genuinely want the extra room
P_2_P14 points11m ago
Fun fact. The middle line on the venti cup is enough liquid for a grande. Same for talls in grande cups

Lol some girl every single day mobile orders a doppio espresso in a venti cup with extra 2% milk, extra heavy cream, and extra cream. At first I thought she was dumb and didn’t know that cream is essentially the milk and heavy cream. Then I realized she was being an utter genius and basically getting a venti drink for like $2. I say just give ‘em what they want. It’s no money from us. I like to brim it for them since they order every day anyways and it makes them like me haha
anxiouspeony14 points11m ago
I understand that it’s no money from us but then they get their dumbass friends and family to do that same shit and suddenly so many tags are a paragraph long. Just order a normal drink and if it’s too expensive don’t fucking buy it
Minimiahmoose4 points11m ago
Yeah I get that it can be frustrating but idk I get way worse orders from people that seem to just put a bunch of gross stuff in one drink. Her order doesn’t really bother me. In the end, Starbucks is big on drink modifications so I kind of expected that when I applied even though it’s irritating. Oh well not really much we can do. I prefer happy customers because then I don’t get a drink thrown at me and nice tips instead!

I def don’t care about the money or the fact that she’s “cheating” by getting a latte for cheaper. The reason I always leave room is because it’s so often a hate me if I do hate me if I don’t situation. Someone would get mad at me for making it to standard and leaving room and someone else would get mad at me for making it like a latte bc that’s not what they wanted. I always just make drinks to standard and if they don’t like it they can order something different. The customer is not worth my headache. In your case it sounds like you know this girl and what she wants and as like as she’s not a bitch about it yeah, I’d make her the latte too if that’s what she wanted.
My last complaint though about the iced espresso instead of a latte “hack” is that the way it’s made is espresso then ice then milk, vs a latte being espresso then milk then ice, doesn’t the drink come out more watery anyways? In the end you’re still hacking yourself a bit bc now you’ve got a watered down latte.

Idk the prices because I'm rarely ever on register at my store because I'm always on bar but if I am on register, I'll just bring them up for what they ask for but I don't really pay attention to the prices unless they ask a question but then I just forget about it afterwards so I'm wondering did they think that it is cheaper to get a grande iced Americano in a venti cup and then just add an extra shot or is it cheaper to get a venti iced Americano? But like either way it's just going to confuse the person on bar with what they should do
Edit: fixed typo
anxiouspeony5 points11m ago
With how much a shot is now I feel the difference cannot be that significant
Responsible_Snow71092 points11m ago
Yea that makes sense. If i remember when i go back in tuesday, im guna check about that on the register to see if its cheaper to do it the way it is in this picture or to just do a venti iced americano. Knowing myself, i will probably forget 😄 lol
anxiouspeony3 points11m ago
I forget everything within 2 seconds it’s ok one day you will ring up a venti americano and go “OH SO IT IS/ISNT CHEAPER”
Responsible_Snow71091 points11m ago
Lolol 😆 now that you mention it, I probably will have this conversation in mind next time I go into work so I probably won't forget now lol
DragonTear032 points11m ago
Venti iced Armericano and a grande iced extra shot are the same price
Responsible_Snow71091 points11m ago
Ohh thank u! Then i wonder why they got a grande in a venti cup and added the extra shot. Cuz it doesnt say extra ice or extra water
ryguy696668 points11m ago
I’m imagining that with her breve and extra shot charges, they paid more than the cost of a venti, so their loss.
DragonTear038 points11m ago
It only costs more because the barista put breve instead of 1/2 cream
Brgnbo5 points11m ago
Maybe they wanted like hella cream hence the charge for it
Noobplzforgive5 points11m ago
And the idiot payed for his splash of cream.
DragonTear034 points11m ago
Wouldn’t the idiot be the barista who put it in wrong, food for thought
Noobplzforgive2 points11m ago
This is so so true

Noobplzforgive9 points11m ago
Yea supposed to be. But the label breve means they were charged 70 cents. Other wise it will say "cream 1/2""
76151A-Pro1 points11m ago
you're right, my bad!
Necessary_Low9392 points11m ago
Imagine wanting to save a few cents
chexsmix962 points11m ago
They probably paid more this way too 😂
Baby_Smokey1 points11m ago
When people do this I just add extra ice
BookDragon19961 points11m ago
The only thing I can think of is maybe they wanted the difference to be filled with half and half?
