So I was assaulted today… (self.starbucksbaristas)

Long story short, a customer punched another customer in our DT line today. When I went outside to get the license plate number, so I could file a report, I was also assaulted. I already made the initial incident report, but I’m pretty hurt. Do I file another report for my injury? Or just go to the hospital with the incident report number I got?

Ok, thank you. I wasn’t sure if I could use the same incident report number or if I needed another one. No one at my store had answers when I asked what to do.

They were upset there were no caramel crunch topping pieces and they had to wait in the drive-thru line behind two cars. Came up to the window and began yelling at us. The car waiting for their items was trying to defend us baristas and told her to go to her car and wait. Customer proceeded to begin punching the customer in the face. Called for help from my shift who went to get the license plate number. Customer saw she took the photo. Began to verbally assault her, then hit and shove her. All over caramel crunch topping… can’t make this up

OP isn’t obligated to share the full story. Being subject to abuse as extreme as physical assault at work, let alone anywhere, is a traumatic experience. You’re not entitled to know about other peoples’ trauma.
