Is it just me? Or at the two Starbucks I have worked, there is always girl drama?!? Like someone won’t do their work, everyone talks behind each other’s backs… like I’m in Tarbucks atm, and I feel so bad for our managers for having to constantly hear us bitch about each other. Baristas have quit over the bullying and overbearingness of some of our current baristas. It’s so stupid.

Nah. I was a shift at a high volume DT store. Literally had baristas refuse to do parts of their job: dishes/trash runs or do tasks that are asked of them like spray down and wipe out cabinets stained with coffee. Had other shifts bitch and talk shit about me/how I run the floor, legit saying “ugh she thinks she’s so great, I’ve been a shift longer than her and know better!!!”, I eventually left and it feels better. It was never like that at my old store from several years ago, which is sad, but I’ve also haven’t seen shifts be this “lazy” before.

Literally left my old store for the same reasons! Was one of the few shifts who actually forced people to do their work. I feel that pain lol

It’s hard. And even one of my new shifts at this current store said “you have to pick the policies that matter to you. Just a few because they can’t be all.” As I have baristas coming behind the bar to make food or drinks, showing up in mid-crop tops and yoga pants/leggings….saying “I’ve been nice to the customers, I don’t need to mop the floor!” (Literally…) and don’t react to coaching as they SLAM the iPad on the table because it’s saying “loading”…. now catch eye rolls and nasty attitudes during the shift… I think policies are in place for a reason and at this point in time, wanna watch yoga pants melt because they spilled an americano all over themselves and watch Sedgwick deny the claim because they “were out of uniform” or “not on the clock” and also get an added write up for not “following policy”… it’s very hard to have this type of mindset. Honestly counting down the days to when I get my Econ degree and do other things.

I never understood this cropped top, skirt wearing bs. Literally u are paid to wear a uniform. Don’t like it? Don’t work here! Simple as said. Why do people go out there way to not follow the dress code? In fact, Starbucks dress code is quite lenient. If they tell u to wear regular jeans, just fcken wear it! Why wear a damn pair of shorts like u about to go to Coachella or something.

One of my baristas is friends with a customer outside of the store and god bless the customer when he said “Yooooooooooo if sbux is becoming a skin bar I know where all my cash is going!” (Partner in question was wearing “cooter shorts” and a crop top/exercise bra shirt….I was dying laughing. Sbux should change its name to “the throbbing bean”…) lmao

yep... there can absolutely be a "mean girl" dynamic, & some people will feed off each other. just know it's not only you. 💙

Most stores are like that. Some has less drama. I don’t understand the ‘I don’t wanna do work part’. Literally get paid to do whatever task it is. It’s not, do u want to do this task; It’s you have to do this task.

I feel this. Honestly, I’d love to give a Trenta reply but the topic of the post is exactly why I cannot. I feel so disrespected and belittled at this point I can’t even vent. Baristas and shifts read these threads and come into work and complain about legit complaints any partners have. I just want to do my job and go home. I don’t want to be dragged in the drama. So again, I feel ya. I hope it gets better for you.

Thanks. I hope it goes better for you too!! It’s honestly exhausting.

i’ve had stuff like that at every other place i worked but luckily not the starbucks i work at. it’s one of the reasons i’ve stayed so long tbh
