Is there a limit to how many shifts you can offer up? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by AllTheSingleHades_
Context: due to the many issues I’ve had since getting home for the summer, i ended up getting a second job that is full time. I only have a month before I move back to school so I decided to tough it out at Starbucks by only working one weekend shift a week. However it seems now that I’ve got this new job they decide to schedule me (I was only getting one day a week before). I offered up a couple shifts on the app in the past couple of weeks and they were taken but I wanted to know if there was a limit of how many times I can do it in a certain time frame? I feel like the answer is no but I also don’t want my SM to come after me 😅

you can offer as many as you want but your sm can still write you up if it becomes an ongoing thing (there's no specific amount). you're supposed to work the shifts you're scheduled and it shows unreliability

Yeah I get that I’m just a little annoyed that they were only scheduling me one day a week for a long time (I picked up a lot of shifts in that time) and now when I actually ask for only one day a week is when they start scheduling me more. If anything all this job has shown me for the past couple months is unreliability, which is why I got the second job. I have less than a month less with Starbs anyway before I go back to college and my new job is very understanding so I guess it’s not that big of a deal in the long run

yeah it might be one of those tough it out and wait for it to be over things. you'll get through it, best of luck!
