Question: Does anyone know the current rules of covid pay? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by MidnightWhiz
I recently tested for covid. My manager is saying that you only get paid for self isolation if you directly caught covid from another partner at work. But another manager is saying that isn't how is works.

I'm trying to find some official updated rules about covid pay, but couldn't find it.

Log onto the partner hub and search Covid - on the Covid 19 resources page you can find the self isolation decision logic, which says “retail partners who have a positive Covid-19 test will be eligible for self isolation pay” and later specifies “all partners with a positive Covid-19 test result”

And then has a section explaining the pay. But once again, it does not specify that it’s only exposure at work, it’s all exposure.

I recently had covid and was paid for my 5 days of isolation, starting the day after I was tested positive. And I got covid from being on vacation, so no matter what I believe you still should be paid for your isolation period. Obviously this pay does not include tips since you will not be working, which I thought was fair.

You can look it up. But they way you do it is you're supposed to put the hours you missed (the hours you would have worked) into the book and then the store manager takes it from there. But since it seems your manager is misinformed I would contact the help desk or ethics thing.

"Catastrophe pay: In addition to existing benefits such as sick pay and personal time off, Starbucks is providing catastrophe pay for partners who have been diagnosed with or were exposed to COVID-19 (including certain qualifying exposure outside of work) so they can stay home and self-isolate. Currently, Starbucks pays for two rounds of isolation per quarter, though in the event of additional exposure, partners can work with their local leaders on solutions that prioritize their health and safety."
