IT IS NOT A 30 MIN BREAK! IT IS NOT "Oh let me stay downstairs and avoid / garbage / Bar, etc." IT IS NOT HIDE AND SEEK!
Seriously I get staying an extra 5 mins but if you gonna take your time with it just cause and leave the rest of us with no restocking when coming back up or etc. Kindly leave.
Thank you!

Y'all have a downstairs?

I was just gonna ask the same thing. I would love that.

bro it's fine if u make ur 10 a 15 or something but if u take longer than that now ur taking away from MY 10... like ur not screwing over the company at that point ur screwing ME over
jjd_yo70 points11m ago
15 minutes? Whatever. But twenty or thirty on your allotted ten? You’re just screwing the people actually working. Don’t be lame; Stick it to the siren in a way that doesn’t hurt your coworkers who deal with the siren day to day already 😟

Surprised people are downvoting. Probably your tone though. But if stocking is an issue just ask them to stock before then - have them ring up their food and stuff so that’s being made while they stock. There are plenty of ways to figure it out while still being respectful to your baristas
I’m usually not bothered if my baristas take a little longer but it does mean everyone else has to wait on their breaks which is what frustrates me tbh. I’m not worried about the stocking - I just want everyone to get their breaks in a timely manner 🙁

In the morning, my 10 starts when I get my drink or food.
In the evenings, I take 12 on my 5.75 hour shifts, 10 any other time. But I also cut 10s short and go back to helping out, especially when I know we can't really afford for me to take a whole 10. I try to help as much as possible.
Flowerfuls17 points11m ago
I would just have someone ring you out so they make your stuff and stock while you wait. That way you’re helping and get your ten when you get your food. Don’t cut yourself down though you deserve your full break !
heyitsmaria2420 points11m ago
I kind of agree with this. My coworker took forever to take his 10. Another coworker was leaving at 8… so when it was my turn… I only had 6 minutes instead of my full 10 🙂 once I didn’t even get a break because everyone took too long and there wasn’t enough coverage for it. Really sucks.
Flowerfuls60 points11m ago
That’s not your problem. You’re entitled to your full break. That’s on your SSVs for not proactively working with the issue. Take your full ten if they complain then they can figure out how to manage the baristas better time wise. I never have my baristas cut their 10s even if we short for a few minutes.
heyitsmaria2417 points11m ago
Thank you. I’ll definitely take my full 10 for now on.

Set a 10 min timer when someone goes on break. Then everyone yell the breaker's name when timer goes off.
Torirock1043 points11m ago
lmaoo yall r so lame
Saint-enance17 points11m ago
Sounds like my old SSV
sero50744 points11m ago
this is a reason why one of the longest SSV’s i worked with got fired recently they were cryin about ppl taking a long time or staying in the back and then taking even longer breaks LOL
Saint-enance21 points11m ago
Y’all don’t get paid enough (former employee) to be scheduled 5.75 hours and only get 10 minutes to yourself in that time
sero50743 points11m ago
ikr, i thought it was stupid that was a reason they got fired and no one else did when i heard i was like really -_-
