15 minutes? Whatever. But twenty or thirty on your allotted ten? You’re just screwing the people actually working. Don’t be lame; Stick it to the siren in a way that doesn’t hurt your coworkers who deal with the siren day to day already 😟

Surprised people are downvoting. Probably your tone though. But if stocking is an issue just ask them to stock before then - have them ring up their food and stuff so that’s being made while they stock. There are plenty of ways to figure it out while still being respectful to your baristas

I’m usually not bothered if my baristas take a little longer but it does mean everyone else has to wait on their breaks which is what frustrates me tbh. I’m not worried about the stocking - I just want everyone to get their breaks in a timely manner 🙁

In the morning, my 10 starts when I get my drink or food.

In the evenings, I take 12 on my 5.75 hour shifts, 10 any other time. But I also cut 10s short and go back to helping out, especially when I know we can't really afford for me to take a whole 10. I try to help as much as possible.

I kind of agree with this. My coworker took forever to take his 10. Another coworker was leaving at 8… so when it was my turn… I only had 6 minutes instead of my full 10 🙂 once I didn’t even get a break because everyone took too long and there wasn’t enough coverage for it. Really sucks.

Set a 10 min timer when someone goes on break. Then everyone yell the breaker's name when timer goes off.
