My friend thinks a barista has a crush on me, I usually go to the store once a week but should I go more often to figure this out? (self.starbucksbaristas)

The barista remembering ur drink doesnt mean anything out of the ordinary. Whenever baristas at starbucks (especially at my store) see someone walking up and we kno what they normally order, we will start ringing the drink up on the register before they walk up or we will start making their drink so its ready for them when they get to the register to pay

Does your friend work with the other barista? Perhaps you could have them ask directly and thus saving you any embarrassment if you really want to clear it up.

From your post, the friendly barista is simply remembering your drink plus picking up the convo you’ve had from the last time you were there. Particularly with regulars (that I enjoy talking to) at my store, I’ve got all their drinks down pat and remember what’s going on in their life. It allows me to interact with the 20-25 regulars that come in on a daily basis and isn’t that hard for me. Could be that he’s doing the exact same with you, just being friendly.

My friend actually doesn’t work at Starbucks, which is why I think he might be blowing this out of proportion and thinking it’s something it’s not. But that’s also why I want to clear it up so I can tell him it’s one thing or another. I feel like I’m the friendly talkative barista at my store and that could come across as flirting if misconstrued that way but my friend is convinced otherwise

Yea I definitely think your friend is misinterpreting a bit, if you’re somebody that stops in regularly, there’s a good chance that one of the baristas, if not most, can remember your order and remember past convos with you. Definitely helps if you’re easy to talk to!
