It sounds like they're trying to let you spend your whole 10 enjoying your food instead of spending half (or all of) your 10 waiting for it. It's not a standard rule so you definitely don't have to do it but the other option would be to start your 10 and order it in line and wait for it to come out whenever it comes out.

Good luck, hopefully they'll let you start ordering closer to your 10.

standard is to go into the lobby, order, and wait DURING your 10 minutes. if your food takes 5 mins, you get 5 mins to eat it... pick your poison

The only thing is she’s making us do it like 10 minutes before 😫

They can yes. You could maybe ask to do it in a shorter time but it’s to make sure you guys get a full ten while only being off the floor for ten. A lot of partners will wait for their food for five min then start their ten - but that screws up break timing for everyone else.

Talk to your SSV and see if there’s a way to negotiate.

That sounds like your shift needs to learn how to manage breaks better. I can understand saying hey you’re gonna be going on your 10 soon if you wanted to warm something up, but otherwise, I don’t see how a SHIFT can make up some rule like that.

I agree with that, I don’t think it’s necessary bad, I just wish it was a bit sooner

Oh definitely, my guess is since they’re new they’re trying to establish some change, but I don’t see how it makes a big difference if you warm up food that early. A lot of partners at my store will ask whoever is on warming to throw something in if they know they’re going on a 10 soon, but that’s really up to that partner. Almost done of us actually go by standard and order then wait. My guess is the shift will eventually give up on this once they get more comfortable.
