There's many costumers I could write essays about how they annoy me, and I'm curious who your worst Starbucks regulars are? My least favorite regulars are this couple who come in every Sunday and they always mention how they are coming from Sunday church service and they say it in such a proud tone. They then continue to order their drink as slow as humanly possible as if our tiny brains couldn't process it any faster, and they will continue to repeat it back and then make you read it back every-time. I can't stand the condescending vibes they give off and the way they assume we are too dumb to understand that they want an affogato shot on their grande latte.

I hate when customers will say repeat it! Lol as if I wasn’t going to already, I always do. But this guy comes like every morning and orders the same two drinks grade decaf latte and grande dark roast with steamed cream and 1 sugar. Then he will say repeat it. And sometimes he goes so fast I have to hurry to get it all on the order screen and he’ll be like uhmmm did you get the steamed cream. Yeah. I hate when people go so fast and read the drink like backwards or upside down. There’s so many things I could go on about. 2 weeks ago a lady flipped out on me and recorded me for calling her hun. OH I had one regular who’d always come in & order s cappuccino in her personal cup, she’d sit down and drink half of it then come back and be like I didn’t like it, I need my money back.. EVERYDAY she would do it.

OMG STOP!! They recorded you !! I would scream!! Starbucks really attracts a whole different breed of Karens.

Omg my least favorite were this couple it started with “two grande chai tea lattes extra hot NO FOAM AND MOST IMPORTANT NO FOAM” and every damn time they come back whining there was foam on one or both. The manager would make their drinks, the assistant manager didn’t matter. They even wrote a super nasty letter to one shift saying something along the lines of god doesn’t like liars because she said their chais had no foam. So of course they kept getting freebies and it evolved into 4 ventis… I kept thinking these people are full of crap. If I kept getting something I didn’t like every other day I’d either stop going there or order something else. One day the shift asked what they do with all the drinks and they said they “put them in the fridge and drink over a couple days but the foam dissipates” yet they refused to order them as iced/no ice/add water chais… nope just had to come back whining for freebies four times a week.

i hate no foam customers. they are always the rudest ppl for absolutely no reason
FrustratingBears2 points11m ago
iced matcha latte light ice no foam deserves a special place in hell
let me slowly swish the matcha around in this milk… it’s gonna be clumpy no matter what
Responsible_Snow71095 points11m ago
Ew idk i cant imagine hot chai lattes being put in the fridge for a few days and heating it up as needed. The quality of it would probably go way down lol
floofxs24 points11m ago
Yeah not to mention they sell the concentrate at the grocery store. They just wanted a place to whine and free drinks. I’m so glad that finally manager started checking every single time and making sure they agreed no foam. And guess what 🤔 once they had to confirm no foam before leaving they stopped coming….what a shocker.
Responsible_Snow71092 points11m ago
Lmao yea they stopped once that happened cuz now theyre guna go unleash their cheapish ways on other poor unsuspecting baristas 😭😭 but no i really do hope they stopped pulling that shit. It aint cool 🤥
mania2k186 points11m ago
we used to have one that would get a trenta black tea, extra splash of oatmilk, extra extra caramel drizzle, and no ice. and every. single. time this girl would complain that there wasn't enough oatmilk. but she always ordered it as an "extra splash" specifically so we didnt charge her for it 🙄
most irritating current regular is the one who says that her americano is "too watery" and has it remade like 3 times at the drive thru window
Responsible_Snow71097 points11m ago
For people that try to get u to remake a drink that many times...nope they aint gettin all the mistake drinks. Just the remake drink lol
Dazzling_Pop_7073 [OP]2 points11m ago
Yes!! I can't agree with this enough
Responsible_Snow71092 points11m ago
Lol i have had this lady a long while ago order a frappuccino. She had us remake it somewhere between 2 to 3 times and asked to take em all. I was newish at the time this happened a few years ago but my manager freakin let her take em all! Wth man it was obvious what she was doing lol like they really are trying it out here
Dazzling_Pop_7073 [OP]2 points11m ago
I've had a manager like that too! Not me , I'll take those drinks back. Especially when it is obvious what they are doing. I had a woman do that to us once 4-5 times, my manager watched the baby barista squirm on bar before stepping in at the 4th drink and just making it herself. She then excessively apologized to the costumer for the mistakes. It was so annoying, that manager is gone now lol. We think she secretly couldn't stand any of us

A Lady always claim I didn’t put enough mocha pumps , she asked for 15, but in reality I put 20. 😒
Dazzling_Pop_7073 [OP]1 points11m ago
That sounds disgusting too lol
Necessary_Low9391 points11m ago
I don’t understand why don’t she just get a mocha creme frap
Responsible_Snow71093 points11m ago
I have this one regular. She comes in literally every morning and she gets a venti pike with soy. But she gets it in a different way. So she likes half of the cup to be her hot Pike coffee and the other half of the cup to be cold soy milk just poured in straight from the carton. So I've been working at Starbucks for a little over 2 years and she's been a regular at Starbucks before I started working there but like when I was a little more newer, I tried to ring her up for the first time and I tried to ring it up as a misto because I don't know half of her cup was coffee and the other half was literally soy milk. Then she said something about the price and complained and then my shift supervisor told me at that time to just ring her up as a venti Pike with soy milk or extra soy milk or whatever it was. Now that I think about it, I'm curious if she should be charged as a misto or as a pike with soy milk because it's not steamed.
Anyway so I just rung her up the way my shift supervisor told me to which was a venti Pike with soy milk or extra soy milk or whatever it was. And even to this day that's how we're still ringing her up as. But she wants you to pour in the soy milk first and then the other half of the cup she wants the coffee to go on top so that it's kind of cooled down a little for her? Idk lol
but the other day, she came in and ordered her drink and then I poured the soy milk into half of the cup and then I walked over to the coffee station and one of my co-workers already had put coffee in one of the cups or something like that and I tried to get the coffee so I pulled some coffee from the urn over her soy milk and then I think we were waiting for more of it to brew but I went over to grab the coffee that my one coworker had sitting in the cup under the spigot and she flipped out saying she doesn't want the hot coffee to be mixed with the cold coffee. And I told her that the first round of coffee that I put in her cup wasn't enough so I waited a couple seconds and went to grab more coffee which the difference of that was like a couple seconds and I don't know why she started flipping out but it was just the weirdest thing
floofxs25 points11m ago
Anything over 2inches should be charged but sometimes management enables the crazies to avoid conflict. I say give them conflict and hopefully they either stop or go away.
Responsible_Snow71092 points11m ago
Lol shes a very nice lady but she starts panicking in a sorta calm way when someone not familiar with her order tries to charge her correctly lol i mean idk why my main shift supervisor has alot of regulars where she will literally bend the rules for
jams10155 points11m ago
I'd charge as an upcharged misto, and put "unsteamed soy" as the ask me. Or I'd charge her for a small, upcharged milk and a small Pike and put it together in a Venti cup for her. Those would be her only options from me!
Responsible_Snow71092 points11m ago
That actually sounds better and I wish I would have thought of that when it first happened but don't you hate when you're new or kind of new and then a regular comes in that everybody else and the shift supervisor knows very well and you try to charge the customer correctly for a certain way and then they all try to change it and interfere just because it's a regular that they're used to giving free stuff or extra stuff too. But the options you gave are actually very reasonable and I wish I would have thought of them at that time! Thank u for sharing ur perspective 🙂
jams10152 points11m ago
I sooooo hate that. It's like, why even have policies and guidelines in place if their only purpose is to be "overruled" to make the moment right?! And these regulars are usually the worst, so entitled and smug.
Responsible_Snow71091 points11m ago
Idk lol it bugs me in certain ways. Like they're up charging for extra caramel drizzle lining the cup and they're charging to blend unblended drinks and they put a $1.25 charge on vanilla sweet cream cold foam so like if a customer complains and cries about not wanting to pay any of that then you know Starbucks is going to say to make the moment right but then like why put those up charges in place if ur not guna use it like u intended 🤦♀️
FrustratingBears2 points11m ago
we have a regular who orders her order by her name. i.e: “can i have a double tall kathy” (name changed for privacy)
at least she’s nice when we have new people who don’t know her order by heart, but it’s kinda presumptuous to order by your own name imo
Dazzling_Pop_7073 [OP]2 points11m ago
Oh my lord that's so funny. I think regulars don't always realize that we treat every costumer kindly and have many regulars. They aren't the only familiar face to walk thru the door lol
Specialist_Nebula7501 points11m ago
There’s a lady who comes through drive through everyday and orders a grande hot mocha half caff with peppermint. Every day we hand it to her and she tastes it in front of us and says it tastes “yucky”. So we remake it 3-4 times the same way till she’s satisfied and convinced it tastes better. Almost every time she is given recovery cards 🫠
