Coffee Master Question (self.starbucksbaristas)

We had sign ups in the back to become coffee masters. Aka the black apron. I’ve been a partner for 2 1/2 years, I’m just wondering, if you sign up does that automatically mean you’re gonna become a coffee master? And how do you become one? How do they choose? I just don’t want some partner that was hired 6 months ago to be chosen over me. I’ve put a lot of work and dedication into starbucks over the years.

Yay! I actually know this one. Okay, so you have to communicate with your sm that you will be doing coffee master. Your store should have received coffee academy 100, 200, and 300. You'll take those home and do the coffee academy online. After you complete all that, you will be scheduled to do a coffee presentation. Once you complete that, you will be awarded with your black aprons! I have my presentation tomorrow! Hope this helps :)

You shouldn’t be doing coffee master on your own time! They gave us training budget for it; so not everyone gets to be a coffee mastwr

Everything about coffee master should be a paid experience; they didn’t give us enough budget to make more than one every 6 months. You shouldn’t do anything relating to Starbucks on your own time
