We have a customer who gets a trenta chai (but it HAS to be charged as a venti or she will complain to our licensed location manager) and she gets 2 shots, 11 chai, and 11 vanilla with no ice and extra milk (i believe coconut milk) and she comes at a specific time on specific days and is THE RUDEST customer we ever get and we always have to warn new green beans about her because if 1 thing is off (or she thinks it is off) she freaks out of whoever she THINKS made the drink

we also have a customer who gets a venti hot latte with 0.25 of a shot of espresso and also a very specific amount of mocha and vanilla with NF milk and whipped cream
she will throw her drink or freak out if it taste too little or too much (usually this option) like coffee and she was extremely racist to a former partner
we dont even put espresso in her drink most of the time and she says it tastes too much like coffee

customers are the worst

Why are these people allowed to order. THROWING stuff??? Is unacceptable.
sixsmallsheep 10 points 11m ago
right???? i wish we could ban customers but we work at a licensed location and the grocery store manager doesnt want to ban customers
aee78 10 points 11m ago
If they throw something out of there, that's a ban. What if they hurt you?
I use to manage a Tarbucks. Someone threw a drink at someone and was banned from all the targets in the area. We also had a couple of people that we refused to serve. The store manager wouldn't banned them from the store. But they came in, I left until the went away.
sixsmallsheep 6 points 11m ago
i wish our local grocery franchise would allow us to ban people or atleast refuse them. i had a transphobic customer and my coworkers decided not to serve him when he came up and they got a warning for refusing service

it's so frustrating because the customers who throw drinks DEFINATELY should be banned. idc if they're banned from the grocery store but we should definitely ban them from our starbucks kiosk

You have every right to STOP SERVING THIS CUSTOMER!!!

Do not appease childlike adults like this

oh i am a frequent borrowed partner at this one store close to my home store and they have a regular there who orders a venti iced white mocha in a trenta with a flat lid, extra caramel drizzle, vanilla sweet cream cold foam, heavy cream instead of 2% and extra whip 🤢🤮 abominable
sixsmallsheep 8 points 11m ago
i dont get how some of these drinks taste good 😭😭😭 i could get MAYBE some of the matchas if you like the taste of matcha but some orders have way too much syrups or too many different flavors going on

I also worked at a licensed store in a grocery store and we had this woman who would come in pretty much every day and order a grande decaf iced mocha with whole milk, extra whipped cream, mocha drizzle and the mocha cookie topping if we had it. One time the whole grocery store was out of heavy cream so we physically could not make more whipped cream once we ran out. Her drink was rung up and paid for before I knew we had run out of whip because whoever opened put an empty canister back in the fridge so I thought we had another. Whipped cream is not an extra charge and I made her drink exactly how she liked it(I was usually the one to do it since I was the most experienced on bar and knew her drink) only to find out we had no whip, so I explained that we unfortunately were out of whipped cream and that I didn’t know when her order was taken and that the store itself was out of the item we needed to make more whipped cream. She immediately threw a tantrum and ran(no really she ran) to one of the store managers and demanded a refund. Sometimes people are ridiculous.

I work at a grocery store location. Where are you located? In Canada we have Shop keepers right to refuse service. It for our safety. I used it once for a male customer who was asking the young teenage girls inappropriate questions. It can also be used for customers that are swearing or threatening you. Or abusive (throwing drinks)
sixsmallsheep 1 points 11m ago
North Carolina, USA. I might have to talk to contact corporate for the grocery if these people keep showing up because our store manager doesn't want us to ban anyone. He is retiring soon as well

heavy cream = straight to jail
waterdropss [OP] 2 points 11m ago
i had a barista friend who's order was vt ic coffee 3 pumps caramel 3 pumps vanilla and heavy cream. when i tell you i unfriended them so fast. i find it just absolutely revolting that starbucks even has an option of heavy cream as a milk choice. like keep it for the whips and vanilla sweet cream/cold foam... but add it to a drink..... yeah no.
kaynist 1 points 11m ago
like honestly tho idk how many times my store has run out of heavy cream and then not been able to make whips or VSV, it should NOT be a sale item
IzzyIllustrations 6 points 11m ago
I cannot stand making a whole ass drink with heavy cream. And their reasoning is "it's keto"...
IT'S ALL FAT.
I hate the damn keto trend 😭
Apprehensive-You5261 6 points 11m ago
It’s not even keto because chai is sweetened LOL and so is matcha and all the refreshers idk what these people think they are
waterdropss [OP] 1 points 11m ago
happy cake day!

yeah honestly i blocked out her name because she's a consistent regular and i didn't want her to feel singled out. but generally speaking, heavy cream should not be a milk option at starbucks.
sailor_mars25 6 points 11m ago
idk how anyone can stomach having a drink made out of heavy cream. we had one girl who would order a trenta pink drink sub heavy cream add 3 vanilla bean powder almost every single day. The calorie math is like over 500 at least it’s crazy idk how people order it. We also had one lady who worked AS A NURSE and she would order a venti iced latte with, and I wish I was kidding, 60 pumps of syrup. 12 pumps of 5 different ones. It filled up to the third line on the cup. People are insane

yeah... ive met a lot of people in the healthcare profession who just don't care about their health. like they know the facts but at the end of the day, they're human just like anyone else and they do get influenced,,, so that's how you find dentists and doctors who advise not drinking coffee every day for example who also drink starbucks every day.

i also say this with confidence because growing up i wanted to get into the medical field and having one of my parents being a doctor... i saw a lot in front of my eyes.

I just had an iced matcha latte today.

Light ice.

Heavy cream. 🤢

I shook that thing so much and it was STILL. CHUNKY. I tried so hard! 😭
waterdropss [OP] 1 points 11m ago
catch me trying to make this drink on my shift when i go in the next time to see how chunky it is. i'm making it in a tall though and then throwing it out or giving it free to some poor customer who depending on if they're lactose intolerant or not... may or may not have severe stomach pains.

one thing though in general is baristas make matcha wrong. the right way is to add milk into the shaker, then the matcha. shake it. then add ice after. a lot of baristas put the ice in while shaking which causes it to clump.
