How to deal with wrist pain? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Avoni_C
I've worked with Starbucks for a bit now and I've been having wrist pain. It started not too long after I finished training and I don't know what to do. It really hurts when I bend th certain ways or when I put pressure on certain spots.

I feel like it's from having to bend my wrist a lot to brew coffee or the various ways I have to reach to grab certain things.

Any batista have tips for healing it? I feel like we're not allowed to wear wrist braces for food safety reasons but is there anything I can do to minimize the pain and further injury while at work? Or just suck it up and take care of it when I get home?

Omg this is the worst! I had it bad when I first started! Honestly tiger balm helped me out tremendously! It’ll take some time getting used to!

I have wrist pain (not sure why, i think it’s repetitive strain injury) a lot from computer use, but working here has never made it worse. It does flare up sometimes at work. I noticed a big difference when I did light exercises, like push ups or lifting weights- just 10-15 minutes a couple times a week.

Does your forearm feel tight? Rock hard? Because of it does, it shouldn't. It is possible that you don't need a wrist brace at all. I've been working as a barista for over ten years and this was a game changer for me.

Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone but this might help.
