i don’t hate the job itself, I just hate the entitled customers and their stupid ass requests sometimes, but i mean id rather work here than any other fast food place, and my coworkers are really great. even though my manager isn’t the best, i really don’t hate the job yanno?

I love my job. I think I just got lucky tho, our store is one of the busier ones in my district but I think it also has the best crew. We all get along, a lot of us hang out outside of work, we all gladly pick up each others shifts and all work well together. We also don't habe bad customers. Of course, we get some mildly annoying people come through, but no one ever yells at us or gets nasty. Its a totally different vibe when I work at another location tho

I don’t hate it.
I’m a rehire from 2015 after I left healthcare. My benefits and pay are much better (after tomorrow I’ll officially make more than my old hospital job without the hour commute) and I love the regulars and whatnot. I’d rather deal with a “complicated” wm than a patient assaulting me or calling me nasty names because I can’t give meds and I’m “useless” to them.

I love my job even though there are days where I truly hate the situations I am in. I’ve worked by for the Bux for over 20 years. I’ve had a few incredible SMs and some that should have never held the position. I’ve met the absolutely best people on both sides of the counter. I say this often, the people are EVERYTHING. There are two phrases that I firmly believe in that Starbucks at one time or another states. This one is still said today… we are in the people business serving coffee. I apply it to both customers and partners.

See, I'm pretty similar. A few of the customers are terrible, most are okay, and some I would move hell, heaven, and earth for. But what really keeps me going on my worst days is my coworkers. They're some of the best people I've ever worked with. Unfortunately with many leaving for college or other reasons, they're unfortunately being replaced with corporate product pushers that I'm not too fond of. It's making me want to transfer and I'm not sure what to do

I worked at Sonic for 8 years, on and off. I genuinely mostly love my job. It is mostly the same as working at Sonic but with double pay and benefits that are attainable.

I think it's probably that we have a good team that makes me love it tho. Otherwise it would be tolerable

I don’t hate it. Starbucks is one of the best jobs you can get with the environment and benefits. Just the teamwork involved during chaotic rushes is really special in itself. You really just have to have a stable store with a good manager. My sister who was a former partner said that u will never get burnt out working at Starbucks, its being treated like shit by certain customers and possibly by workers/management that will burn u out. (In that case id say transfer but as for customers, you’ll always see good and bad days.)

your experience is almost entirely dictated by your co-workers, store & SM. Bad store, bad co-workers or (especially) a bad SM and it can suck. I’m lucky to have all three good - so I’ve had a similar experience for 2 years

I love my job, but- that is thanks to my wonderful team of partners that make me love it. I started last fall and transferred almost immediately to my current store, I have yet to wake up and think to myself 'wow, today is going to be awful'

I came out of 2 years retail, and starbucks did so much for my mental health :)

I never hated working at starbucks , I loved my partners, shift supervisors and my last SM. I left the company because I was burnt out from working retail in general. I actually wish I worked for starbucks as my first and only retail job (because I had worse prior) and mainly gained my customer service from within the company ( I'd most likely be in higher management if I was).

I definitely don't hate working for Starbucks, but there are people who make shifts frustrating- partners / managers and customers alike. I've been with the bux for around a year and a half now and though I've nearly quit two times, I can't imagine leaving forever

I don’t hate it & actually like most everyone there now! Don’t like rude people & love making Frappuccinos & the pay increase is better since I still want get more than 1 or 2 shifts

Lucky you, you must have a nice staff, not have to do 80% of the backups, cleaning and stocking in the place, don’t have incompetent shift leaders and a manager that shrugged off a sexual harasser for 6 months and caused half the staff to quit. You must also not work in a majorly busy store where you get over 140 customers in half an half and a million tourists on weekends that shit on the bathroom walls and hurl insults at you all day
