SSV interview! Pls help <3 (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by maxwasfounddead
Hii! I’m a barista in the UK and i’ve worked at my store for just under a year. My shift supervisor interview is tomorrow and i’ve had almost no time to prepare as i’ve been working non stop and i’m starting to stress a little. I love my manager and we are a very tight knit store so i’m not too worried but i just wanted to see if anyone has any tips?

Also, one of the main parts of the interview is preparing a “big opportunity”. - i need to present something which i think is a problem and can be improved in the store and for the life of me i can’t think of anything. Our store is quite hidden so i was going to go off that idea and talk about advertising methods, sampling to passerbys etc but i’m not sure - does it sound like an ok idea and how could i expand on that?

Thank you so much x

I just did my interview and they asked for a few examples of how I've coached other partners, how I dealt with having to give difficult feedback to a partner, how I learned to adapt my coaching style for different partners, etc. As for finding something in your store to improve; drive thru times is always a good one if you have one, thinking of ways to improve customers connection scores, or I recently started doing a "drink of the week" board and they really liked that idea. If your store is hidden away, maybe suggest an instagram page or something? Could feature your baristas fave drinks on there, new product, new merch

My SM suggested sending a "thank you for your time and the opportunity" email afterwards, and I saw a guy preform a coffee tasting for his interviewers too! Good luck :)
